and if everyone reported every question that was offensive to them, R&S wouldn't exist?

can we stop being so quick to report questions, unless they are blantantly racist, violent, adult in nature or harmful to children?????

someone's question about who god was talking to when he said "let there be light" was deleted. yes, chances are that the question was meant to open your eyes to your own beliefs. whether you're religious or not, don't you think you should be able to answer the tough questions, or point the asker in the direction of someone who can, instead of trying to dismiss the fact that those questions exist by reporting them into deletion?

very good question.

i think that there are some people that would be offended by "good morning". it's sad.

there are a lot of people that i personally don't agree with, but i have never reported their questions. what's the point of that? even if i don't like it they have a right to say it.

we don't have to answer questions that offend us...we can move on to a new question. it's not really that hard to do.

happy thanksgiving to everyone.

Excellent point. I agree wholeheartedly with what you said in the third paragraph about needing to be able to answer difficult questions rather than dismissing their existence.

Very few are offensive, actually.
Even mine are not usually offensive. I know church folks do a lot of reporting, but I think that's just for getting extra points in heaven.

I once asked a question about pi and a mathematician was offended, and a question about the Big Bang and a physicist was offended, and a question about evolution and a biologist was offended... so, I'd say YES

Yes and long may they remain so within the provisos you mention. Too many correspondents of this group have closed and delusional minds! If I have to offend to get some rationality in there . then so be it!

Oh, of course. I think people like to take offense of questions for fun sometimes, just to cause a stir.

I agree. It is so easy to get offended. I rather ignore the people than report them.

You can't please everyone... but people should try to be a little less childish about questions like that. Maybe they have no other way to feel good about themselves? I'm not sure, but it's definitely something mental. Everyone seems to be offended by everything anymore. I guess they really can't handle it. *shrug*
