Fresh is best. You could actually heat up the can stuff and line a pretty cake pan or bowl with plastic wrap. Put the Cranberry jelly in that and let it cool in the refrigerator. Take a plate which fits the bowl opening and turn the bowl onto the plate. It should slip right onto the plate and is the shape of the bowl. Now you can decorate the whole thing with some orange rind or simply some green herbs.

Empty the can by using a bottle opener and punching a hole in the bottom, then take a can opener and open the can like normal. The jellied sauce will just slip right on out!
You can then cut the sauce in half (one for each end of the table) then put cut side down on a plate which has a beautiful lettuce leaf on it, or you can put some parsley sprigs around it and maybe a lemon wedge, next to it for added color.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I bought a dish a few years ago which was actually made for serving cranberries in. It was a small white dish which came with a nice serving spoon.

be sure to take it out of the can ! My mom would slice it on a pretty plate, you could add a garnish, a slice of orange slit and twisted at the side or a lettuce leaf.
