You tell 'em, Daewen.
Oh yes, there's one God, but he represents himself in 3 different ways, as God, the father, God, the son, and God, the Holy Spirit.
Fear not, you are not the only one who sometimes doubts the existence of God, but in the end... it's the only logical thing. Just look around. Even the small things are evidence of a higher being: The shape of flowers, the intricate designs on fish, the way our eyes work. All of this didn't evolve from speck of dirt in a pond, nor we did come from a huge explosion that "supposedly" happened in the sky a billion years ago. The big man is most certainly not made up. :)

Every person of faith has occassional doubts.
Some say that people with the most faith sometimes have the most doubts.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta had many doubts. But Mother Teresa was not an Atheist. Atheists do not write honestly to their spiritual guides things like, "In my soul, I can't tell you how dark it is, how painful, how terrible -- I feel like refusing God."
And this is not new. Here is a story from 2001: http://archives.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/asiapcf/south/09/06/teresa.letters/
Mother Teresa was not perfect and did not have it easy. She was a real human being with real thoughts and feelings. Just like the rest of us, sometimes she felt close to God and, at times, felt abandoned by God.
She wrote in one of her letters, "I am told God lives in me -- and yet the reality of darkness and coldness and emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul."
Her letters show a real human struggle with her own spirituality and shows her humanity.
Even Jesus cried out on the cross, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"
Sometimes it seems to be the people with the greatest souls have the greatest doubts.
Struggle through and do not give up. God is with you even if you don't feel His presence at every moment.
With love in Christ.

It's not uncommon for people to doubt certain elements of their religious beliefs, even the existence of God, from time to time.
It's these occassional doubts that provide us with the impetus to seek the answers.
If our search for these answers is honest, and we look in the right places, you may eventually find yourself to be more devout to God than you ever thought possible.
I think, down deep, you know there is a God, and you want to believe that which His Church teaches. Knowing what to believe is not a bad thing. It's better to know WHY Catholics believe what we believe.
In my opinion, learn the 'why' behind the 'what' and a time will come when nothing will shake your faith.

Hi Julian,
You realize that those doubts are avenues that God allows us to seek Him. You are seeking God. The Holy Spirit can gudie you. How fortunate and wise you are that your faith has led you to this level! You can only find Good in your search for Him.
We all have doubts about the mystery of God. He is infinite and perfect and we, imperfect try to understand Him, but only He can reveal Himself to you if you will it. So communicate with Him and faithfully ask. You'll get an answer! Promise!
It reminds me of St. Augstine. He was walking on the shore and asking God to reveal the mystery of the Holy Trinity to him. He came upon a little child running to the ocean with a little shell and filling it with water. He would then spill the water in a hole he had made in the sand. He did this over and over. St. Augustine asked him. What are you doing? The child replied, I am trying to put all the water in the ocean in my hole I have made here in the sand.
Augustine said, Can't you see the immensity of the ocean? The child turned to him and said, Augustine, how can you put the mystery of the Holy Trinity in your little head? The child disappeared. Amen!!

We believe in one God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. One God - three divine Persons, the Blessed Trinity.

If you have doubts about your faith, ask a Catholic priest, or an authority on Catholicism to enlighten you about your religion.
See, if you are born Catholic, you sometimes come up with your own beliefs as you grow older due other religious principles you encounter. To stop your doubts, talk to an authority on Catholicism.

Happily Happy, we believe in One God, three Persons. Same Being. Either you believe in God, or you don't. I would suggest prayer. It always helps. And no, if we made Him up our religion wouldn't be #1...
