You can't reshape something that is nonexistent, just your own self.

You can't reshape God. God is God and won't change who he is because he's da man. Lol ok not exactly but come on, we're talking about God. Why would we WANT to reshape him? He already helps specific needs, but you must believe.

Too many are. For there are well over five hundred places in the New Testament alone that state that God is God and Jesus is Jesus-God's son. But to many people want to make an "image" of God, without sinning in their minds. So they call Jesus "God"; when he is Not God.
Changing ones beliefs away from truth dose not help anyone. Only truth can be truth.

To an extent, we do.
I consider the totality of God/Deity to be greater than any of us can understand. As a result, we each see one or more faces of God based upon our unique perspective, experience, and needs. Much like the story of the blind men and the elephant, we touch the Face of God that matches our needs.
Because of the unifying document, Christians who agree upon a particular translation of the Bible may hold similar images of God, but IMHO they are still unique images for each person.
Technically, this isn't shaping God. It is perhaps shaping the conduit though which we touch and are touched by God.
YMMV (Your Maya May Vary)

God knows all of our needs. You can't reshape him. Reshape yourself.

We often do. Which is exactly why Jesus drove the money lenders out of the Temple. And why 2000 years later the Taliban destroyed centuries old statues of Buddha. Everyone's idea of "the image and likeness of God" is of course different. In the US, the Rev. Dollar and other con artists are raking in big bucks by getting deluded people to join their TV churches, all devoted to god as bellboy. You just ring for god/Jesus with a prayer, while crossing his ( ha) palm with silver, and he'll step n' fetch it. Whatever you want. Healthy, wealth, business success. For the TV preachers of course. In my humble opinion, god is what god is. A bellhop he.or she is not. And to that I say R-amen.

We don't?
"God" has been reshaped countless times. That's why there are so many religions and sects.

We should not ask God to provide our needs, but instead thank Him for giving us the abilities to provide them for ourselves.
You should select your religion (or sect) in line with your own moral philosophy. I did. (Which raises another big question)
