I remember that there was a certain name used for vertical travel focal plane shutters when they were introduced, but I just can't remember what it was. It may have been a propritery name used by whoever designed it in the first place.

Any ideas?

Mason, I'm looking for the name on _vertical_ travel FP shutters. It seems to me that it carried someone's name for a while, such as the "Torrey Shutter," but I can't recall.

According to Wikipedia, the first focal plane shutters were horizontal curtain shutters. Don't know if this is the name you were looking for though.
