I see Cheating and nasty answers and a general lack of love among some of the witneses. I see some members being oughtrigit rude to those who ask pointed and good questions.
Do you think that those who claim to be Jehovah's Witneses here, actrually are?

I think that they are Witnesses, When I was a Witness, they actually had strict rules and laws. Things have changed over the years, and the New and Improved Witnesses, seem to resemble the people of Christendom, that they think that they are so far above.

Barth, keep researching the religion, it comes up shorter than just the image of it's members...God Bless.

I would hope that you are not grouping all of Jehovah's Witnesses that are on Y!A together. There are a few who are not as tactful as they should be. However, there are many Jehovah's Witnesses who give very bold, insightful answers.

When we look at Jesus example, there were times when he wasn't exactly what we would consider "polite", especially when he was speaking to the scribes and Pharisees. Let's face it, calling someone a hypocrite or offspring of vipers, isn't exactly "nice"(Matt 23:1-33) There were times when he didn't "behave" like we might think a Christian should, such as when he made a whip and drove out the money changers from the temple. (John 2:13-17) However, like vs. 17 brings out, “The zeal for your house will eat me up."

We love Jehovah very much, and sometimes we might get defensive because of some of the questions or comments that are made. Sometimes our zeal for Jehovah "eats us up"

However, you have to remember, just because someone "claims" to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, doesn't mean that they truly are.

Honestly I am the only person on here I can vouch for, in a good way anyway. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I have seen many on here claim to be one thing but clearly be something else.

Edit, Cheating?? How does one cheat on here?

I try my best to never be rude to anyone. As for myself, I will never bash anyone else's religion, even though they are constantly bashing mine. Are you sure that the ones who you are referring to are actually Jehovah's Witnesses? They may be some who are studying or have not been baptized or are just pretending to be JW's.

This is the internet. Surely that should give you a clue!
There are many apostates and those who just dislike Jehovah's people claiming to be Witnesses.
Be careful and be on your guard.

I tend to agree with you that some "Witnesses" do seem to be somewhat unwitnesslike. But I applaud your questioning whether those people really are Witnesses as they claim to be. Now, I'm not saying you won't find some to be rude and thoughtless, because you can't expect perfection out of imperfect people. I do think though that some come in and make statements just to incite people.

Thank you for the question and enjoy your day (and your studies).

Oh I don't know...maybe because they aren't who they claim to be? Imagine that...People on the internet claiming to be something they are not. That is why ya need to verify information before ya pass it on as true.

WE HAVE WHO LIKE TO STAND ON THE SIDE LINE AND NOT GET IN THE GAME.

(2 Corinthians 11:12-15) 12 Now what I am doing I will still do, that I may cut off the pretext from those who are wanting a pretext for being found equal to us in the office of which they boast. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works.

The witnesses are always nice to sincere people asking sincere questions. The bible says do not let the sun set with you in a provoked state, so getting provoked is human nature. Remember Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple, he did not ask them to leave quietly. You need to give specific examples of the rudeness you speak of. Being adamant is not the same as rude.

Nina, you yourself said it, the only true followers of Jehovah. I wish you had a relationship with Jehovah through his Son Jesus.

If this is happening, then is mostly due to the fact that Witnesses are often asked hateful and slanderous questions. Knowing this has been going on for awhile by regular Anti-Jehovah's Witnesses, one of Jehovah's Witnesses is bound to get mad.

Also, the Anti-Jehovah's Witnesses have no ground whatsoever to talk about "hateful" Jehovah's Witnesses on Y!A.

Barth:

No.

As you know - it is not possible to know exactly who a person is on the Internet. Jehovah’s Witnesses are often persecuted and spoken against. Jesus said: “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.” (John 15:18, 19; see also 1 Peter 4:3, 4.) The Bible shows that the whole world lies under Satan’s control; he is the principal instigator of the persecution.—1 John 5:19; Revelation 12:17.

Jesus also told his disciples: “You will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name.” (Mark 13:13.) The word “name” here means what Jesus officially is, the Messianic King. Persecution comes because Jehovah’s Witnesses put his commands ahead of those of any earthly ruler.

other:

However real Christians show love to their neighbors, no matter how rude or nasty they are - Remember:

1 Peter 3:15 - "But sanctify the Christ as Lord in YOUR hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of YOU a reason for the hope in YOU, but doing so together with a ***mild temper and deep respect.***" "3 Continue reminding them to be in subjection and be obedient to governments and authorities as rulers, to be ready for every good work, 2 to ***speak injuriously of no one, not to be belligerent***, to be reasonable, ***exhibiting all mildness toward all*** men." (Titus 3:1, 2) Also,

1 Peter 2:23: "23 When he (Jesus) was being reviled, he did not go reviling in return. When he was suffering, he did not go threatening, but kept on committing himself to the one who judges righteously. "

“Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah.” Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good.” (Romans 12:17-21)
