People that can't think for themselves and are under the influence of a mind controlling religion don't eat pork.
Good that they don't.
More for me.
Had sausage, egg and cheese biscuits this morning, and enjoyed them.

Most world religions have foods that are taboo. Pork is the most well know do not eat meat. Other foods forbidden are shellfish, non-scaled fish, tigers, elephants, cows and snakes to name a few. For Hindu, the forbidden meats are not as much religious law as a sign of respect for what may be your elders. Buddha is said to have taken many animal forms, so some or all animals are avoided out of respect for Buddha. It is Judaism and Islam that have the most stringent laws pertaining to foods.
There will always be some debate over the validity of religious laws behind food. The main reason for the debate is Mosaic Law. In the Ten Commandments, the basis for most law (commandments six through nine especially) were set literally in stone. Forbidden food was not included in these commandments.
The laws for foods were set in other areas of the New Testement of the Bible often considered teaching texts, for lack of a better word. Text that offered advice on living a healthy life or other advice, would be a teaching text. The food "laws" were intended to keep the chosen of God healthy. That intent, I feel is the key. This is not an attempt to persuade any religious group to change their beliefs, just to open their minds to what God may have intended.
So, thus, it is not a sin to eat, let's say, pork. It is a practice. A tradition that dates far back into history.

Jews and Muslims do not eat pork. Also, to some extent I'm sure some Buddhist and Hindus do not because they do not eat any meat because they respect life, but not all of them are vegetarian.
Probably either Jews or Muslims if they were eating other meat. This is actually pretty common knowlege.

Because something that tastes so GOOD must be bad.... Ancient people were not stupid; they learned how to cook pork properly, and many ancient cultures ate pork regularly without serious trichinosis problems. And it has nothing to do with the size of the animal; most ancient sacrifices were communal - the animal would be sacrificed, with the entrails burned in offering to the god, while the meat was divided up with the community, so there would be no left overs. Smoking, drying, and pickling would preserve any remaining pieces. The likely contender is that the Hebrews were pastoralists from the eastern steppes of the Fertile Crescent who herded goats and sheep, and did not raise pigs, which do not do well in rocky areas, and cannot be herded easily. They moved into Palestine, where they met the Canaanites, who lived in cities and raised pigs in enclosures. The pig was sacred to Hecate, Saturn, and other gods of the underworld, and was sacrificed to the underworld gods. So the Hebrews associated the pig with "unclean" demons of the underworld. Islam received most of its background from Judaism, including the ban on pork. It is a combination of cultural and religious differences.

Read Deuteronomy . It says clearly not to eat such animals. 3 Do not eat any detestable thing. 4 These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, 5 the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope and the mountain sheep. [a] 6 You may eat any animal that has a split hoof divided in two and that chews the cud. 7 However, of those that chew the cud or that have a split hoof completely divided you may not eat the camel, the rabbit or the coney. [b] Although they chew the cud, they do not have a split hoof; they are ceremonially unclean for you. 8 The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses. 9 Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales. 10 But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean. 11 You may eat any clean bird. 12 But these you may not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture, 13 the red kite, the black kite, any kind of falcon, 14 any kind of raven, 15 the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk, 16 the little owl, the great owl, the white owl, 17 the desert owl, the osprey, the cormorant, 18 the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat. 19 All flying insects that swarm are unclean to you; do not eat them. 20 But any winged creature that is clean you may eat.

Judaism and Islam would be the main ones making such a statement on religious grounds, though vegetarians obviously don't eat pork, so that picks up a few more...

Jews, Muslims and believe it or not... The Brahmin Priests of Hinduism. Thats coz they are commited to take on a vegetarian diet ( including no fish even ) as a form of devotion to God by doing their best to respect all life.
Also, Pork according to Hindu Yogis is considered an unclean meat ( so is fish and mollusks ) and by partaking of it, it is believe to hinder their meditative progress or equilibrium.
