Worry about the present and the future. Learn from past mistakes but don't focus on the past too much. The past can take care of itself. We need to focus on fixing the present and preparing for the future.

Knowing the past definitely helps us know what might happen in the future. But if i had to pick one i would have to say focusing on the future. If we don't start thinking about how our lives will be in the years to come, then we wont ever be able to prepare for it. Taking reference from the past has always helped people figure out things in the future though.

I would concentrate on the present.
But of the past & the future: the future is our past projected forward - no one knows the real future until it becomes the present. The value of the past is to learn to improve the present and not create the same mistakes. (create a better life) The value of preparing for the future is to create a better life. So they are not really so different - same goal, different step of the process.
Peace,
;-)

Thre is no point pondering on either - the past is gone and no longer exists outside your mind, the future may never arrive - we have only this moment.

Both are important. To understand ourselves today we should know where we came from and we also should work to create the future that we desire. I think what is most important is to make the world a better place because we have lived in it.

It is better to be focused on where you are at in the moment. A healthy moment makes for a healthy future. So get in touch with Christ and begin to build your future based on His plan for your life. The Word says we do not need to concern our selves with the past or the future, but to stay in commune with God at all times in the now. He has it all under control and if you are in surrender to Him, He will not let you down.

It is important that you know the truth. The bible says that you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free. The bible also says that yesterday is over and tomarrow may never come. Today is the day of salvation. Today is a gift from God. That is why it is called the "present". God bless.

It doesn't hurt to Learn from our past mistakes, but we need to do the best that we can today and each and every day, so that our tomorrow's are brighter for ourselves and for others.
