The Bible teaches us that there is a "sin unto death," a mortal sin that destroys our relationship with God.
1 John 5: If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that. All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.
Murder is one of those sins, including murdering yourself. In most cases, even murder can be forgiven:
1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
However, with a "successful" suicide, there is no one to confess the mortal sin and ask forgiveness.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church has this to say about suicide:
2280 Everyone is responsible for his life before God who has given it to him. It is God who remains the sovereign Master of life. We are obliged to accept life gratefully and preserve it for his honor and the salvation of our souls. We are stewards, not owners, of the life God has entrusted to us. It is not ours to dispose of.
2281 Suicide contradicts the natural inclination of the human being to preserve and perpetuate his life. It is gravely contrary to the just love of self. It likewise offends love of neighbor because it unjustly breaks the ties of solidarity with family, nation, and other human societies to which we continue to have obligations. Suicide is contrary to love for the living God.
2282 If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law.
Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide.
2283 We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives.
Cheers,
Bruce

Pfft, first of all, John e, to distance yourself from Catholicism is distancing yourself from the Bible. There are a lot of religious truths in the Catholic faith.
The Bible does not come RIGHT OUT and say that suicide is a one way ticket to hell, but it tip toes around it and hints at it, what with the passages about the Ten Commandments (Thou shalt not kill) and other passages saying that our bodies our reflections of God. But if there were a Catholic Bible, the answer to your question would be: Nowhere. We believe that God is an intelligent God. He does not rule with the same justice system we do, where there are loopholes and flaws that have the propensity to allow a heartless murderer get off scott free, and an innocent man get the chair. He knows what's in our hearts. :)

The other posters got it right - you shall not kill. Omg, this is ridiculous: do this people really think that the Protestants came up with the Bible?? THE BIBLE IS CATHOLIC!
I doubt they'd go to Hell though...

1 John 5:16 talks of sin that is deadly(mortal sin) and sin the iis not deadly(venial or lesser sins)
Self killing is against the Exodus Commandment" youshall not kill",that is,murder. Suicide with full consent of will and sufficient knowledge of what suicide is is self-murder and mortal sin that is a choise of hell. How many suicides have full consent of will and sufficient knowledge since they are depressed and driven by unbearable emotional ,mental and/ or physical pain? Not many I think.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church in paragraphs2280-2283 shows that responsibility in suicide is often diminished by"grave psychologicaldisturbances,anguish, or grave fear".2282
Suicide done as example(like that suicide bombers who are also murderers of the innocent ) is strongly condemned

Low Self-Esteem
Luke 14:26 - "If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
Murder
Exodus 20:13 - "You shall not kill.
Matthew 5:21-5, - "You have heard that it was said to the men of old, `You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment.' But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, `You fool!' shall be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Make friends quickly with your accuser, while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison;
Matthew 19:17-9 - And he said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments." He said to him, "Which?" And Jesus said, "You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Romans 1:29-32 - They were filled with all manner of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice. Full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity, they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them but approve those who practice them.
13:8-10 - Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and any other commandment, are summed up in this sentence, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
1Peter 4:15 - But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a wrongdoer, or a mischief-maker;
James 2:12-13 - So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.

Nowhere. There is no such thing as Catholic bible. There is a Catholic translation of the Bible which may be somewhat different from other translations but that is another topic. I recommend you King James Version.
