Well, in my humble opinion...no.
First, because I personally believe the doctrine that Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of the covanent with Abraham. That's a bedrock of Christian theology. Therefor, Jesus Christ could not have been a Christian. He HAD to be a Jew. That was the way it was promised, that was the way it was done.
Second...I think that the idea that Christ was a Jew, born to Jewish parents, raised in Jewish doctrine which he treated with the upmost respect (as did all of the apostles), firmly and finally lampoons Anti-Semitism as having ANY base in the faith. If you hate Jews you're also hating Christ. Jesus never ONCE seperated himself from his linage, his parents or his tradition. His claim was not that he was REPLACING Judiasm, but that he was fulfilling it (if I read my theology correctly). At the time of his life, he was viewed as just another teacher. He died under the placard "King of the Jews". Jewish people were the main focus of his teachings, and expanding on Jewish law was the theme of many of his teachings (re-read the area around the Beattitudes.)
Finally, both lables (Jew and Christian) apply to Jesus Christ LEAST, if you genuinely believe that he was the son of God and that he WAS God (another foundational bit of theology). God is not a Christian. God is not a Jew. God is God. He is what he Is ("I am that I am"). He doesn't fit into any religious box people build for him. Christian is a FOLLOWER of Christ, and Christ would not have needed to follow himself.

Jesus was a Jew in His faith, but died as the Christ. Christianity is a word that was coined by the Pharisees. If was describing the folks that were redeemed by the Words of Jesus. Many were still Jews in their foundation, but with a new understanding.

truly interesting question. Jesus changed into in reality a Jew, even if the religion is amazingly diverse in the present day than it changed into decrease back then. If Jesus turned right into a operating in route of Jew in the present day, he could trust that he in reality WASN'T the son of God or messiah. So, no i truly do not comprehend what faith Jesus could practice or what faith is ideal. yet human beings in the present day do not imagine that Judaism is the selected faith. As a catholic i trust that there are a determination of diverse religions, no longer one top, no longer one incorrect. basically trust what you've self belief and appreciate different's beliefs because in reality, it truly is what Jesus could've achieved. God bless you!

You are missing the point. Jesus fulfilled Scripture. He HAD to be of the same bloodline as King David, and He was He HAD to be born of a virgin, which he was. He HAD to flee to Nazareth as a baby to fulfill prophesy and He did. He HAD to take the beating He took before He was crucified and He did. He HAD to defeat sin and death by being raised from the dead and He did. You see, for Jesus to be able to say who He was, all of these things had to come to pass. It wasn't just a matter of Jesus proclaiming who He was, any goof ball could make that claim. It was a matter of fulfilling the Scripture and being the One who was written about.

He was not a Christian..He did not follow himself. He came as the Christ ...hence the formation of the word Christian ..people who try to follow him well and obey his commands.
He came as a hebrew and his flesh died on the cross as a hebrew..and then he raised it out of the grave . After he raised it.. scriptures do not claim he is a hebrew anymore. Just that he is the risen Christ, Jesus.

No - the term Christian means "little Christ", given to people who followed "The Way", as it was originally called. Jesus could not be the first Christian, He is the Christ.

Christianity comes from the name Christ. the whole movement was formed out of who he was and is today. Yes he was a Jew
but only his human race but Christianity is not based on the race of Christ or any one else but it is based on the deity and word of God. Christ could have been Jamaican and Christianity would still be what it is now. email me if you have any questions.

No.
Only the flesh died.
1Pe 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

He is God in the flesh. He sacrificed His life for us. Who are we to set in judgement of anything God should or should not have done. He is God and His Word and Works are final and perfect. Opinions do not even factor in.
