i just lost my job after 7 years now i got to claim job seekers allowance, how much money do i have to have in my bank or savings before i cant claim job seekers??

£8000+ Sorry about yhour job thats sad. You might find another one before your claim goes through anyway.

I am sorry about your job. when i was claiming income support (and if i remember the rules were the same) it was £3k but they do ask for bank statements dating back some weeks/months. So a rather crious transfer might show up. However, I was allowed to keep more than the £3k because I had good reason for it not to be used up on my daily living. They allowed me to keep it for 6 months.

sorry about your job.I am self employed,have not worked at all for 2 months + ,but would never draw benefits of any kind.spending from my savings at the momment and keep looking.I dont say you wrong for looking for benefits,just my personal opinion.

Think when it hits about £2000 you can still claim but get a reduction.I'd get a family member to open an account under their name to hide it!

can't remember, but easy: open another account, with a few quid in, show them that one's statement
