Just talk to friends online on AIM, or MSN, or any instant messaging program. I have a current WPM of about 90 and I got this speed because of doing many "typing-intense" things on the computer. I also play the piano, which lets me practice moving my fingers quickly, so if you play piano, play it more often and you'll be good in no time!

The best way to learn to type fast is by using msn or something of the sort. That's how I learned - just talk to friends online and you'll have 60 in no time. Of course, first you may want to learn the proper finger placements which an be found online.
This way you're doing something you enjoy rather than just cranking out meaningless paragraphs like most typing programs have you do.
