It reveals that God is "Remarkably Incredible."
Sometimes, because God's ways are so much higher than ours, my mind goes into "Cannot Compute" mode when I contemplate on His amazing ways!
Verses 5 and 6 from the Message Bible brings out this point.
I look behind me and you're there,
then up ahead and you're there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful—
I can't take it all in!
Thank you for giving this encouraging word for me this morning to start out this wonderful glorious day of thanksgiving that He has given us!!

David here lays down the great doctrine, that God has a perfect knowledge of us. God knows everything that passes in our minds and inmost souls better than we do ourselves.
The knowledge that the Lord is everywhere should have an impact on what we say. Lies, gossip, unkind remarks, off-color jokes, angry words, vulgar comments, and disrespectful use of the Lord's name should never come from our lips. Rather, we should speak only those things that God approves of. (see Psalm 19:14)
No matter how far we run from God, the "Hound of Heaven" is still chasing us. Just when we think we have eluded Him, we will discover that He's still there. David, who wrote Psalm 139, knew he could not flee from God's presence. It's tiring to run from God. Perhaps we sense that He's pursuing us. If we do, it's time to stop.

God's omniscience is unfathomable. It covers His and our past, present and future, as well as everything in this world to the most minor detail. So, He is omnipresent as well. King David in verse 6 agrees. And we think that we can hide from Him? Boy, are we crazy or what? Adam and Eve still couldn't figure out that was impossible to do after they rebelled and hid. Boy, did choosing the darkness ever make them, and therefore us, dumb! Although they pulled the shades on God, He knew exactly where they were, continued to pursue them anway, and inquired of them (Genesis 3:9-10). By the way, even atheists "hide", because not believing that He exists is just another form of hiding. They are by no means exempt from this insane behavior. In fact, they are the most consistent violators of it!
Genesis 3:9 shows that in His knowledge their is unfathomable love for us also, since He didn't just write Adam and Eve off, but in fact pursued them. And, of course, David agrees with this too. In fact, look at the lengths even God will go to in His knowledge and love, in verse 8, "...even if I make my bed in Sheol (the depths, or netherworld), You are there." We think that God is far away when we rebel. Nope! He's right there, grieving, waiting and possibly even allowing us to reap some of the wonderful benefits of our rebellion, just in case, and in order, that we might decide to come to our senses and raise those shades again in order to come to Him.
It is crystal clear that in His omniscience, if He was only righteous and just, and didn't glory in His mercy over judgement, He would have left us for dead a long, long time ago, since there's absolutely nothing that He doesn't know and see, according to verse 7, "Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence?"

I Preached on this a month or so ago.
God knows us, and our path; where we are going, and wishes to lead us on our path.
God is aware what is in our heart, even before we have an understanding of it.
We are surrounded by His presents, even when we don't know it; I see His hand as that of a Father calming an excitable child.
His mind is greater than ours, and we cannot hope to understand Him.
Where ever we find ourselves, He is already there.
All of this says that The LORD wants to be in our lives, having a personal relationship with us, and goes to great lengths to let us know.
He Loves You ! He Really Does !
