I just bought the new Nissan Rogue, because it is the first year for the vehicle I decided to go with the extended 100k mile warranty. It is called Nissan Security +. I am trying to figure out if I got ripped off, they charged me $2396. Does anyone know anything about this warranty or if I paid to much?

I agree with John Paul, Security Plus is the factory endorsed extended Nissan warranty and it's very comprehensive. The question I always ask people about an extended warranty is this...can you afford a $3,000 maximum repair (a remanufactured transmission) or a $1,200 a/c compressor repair without killing your budget? If your answer is yes, then get a refund, otherwise give it serious consideration. About 80% of people that buy an extended warranty will recoup some of their money. Also, shop the warranty at other Nissan dealers and find out what you should really pay for it. I think you paid a few hundred dollars too much. Good luck!!

You got the best warranty if it's security pluss Gold coverage. Read the contract even rent car coverage while your's in the shop probably $0 detuctable. Over 6 or seven year pay off these days you will not have to pay for any parts failure. But if you put 30,000 miles on a year the deal does not look as good. I put approx 7,000 miles a year on my car so 100,000 extended warranty will last the leingth of the 6 years I am paying for the car. Just something to think about.

it all depends on the true value of the nissan, if it is a maxima probaly so (more costliy repairs), if it is a manual - entry model, no (cheap repair @any garage). I would put the cost of the warranty into a CD (certificate of depsoit) and let it stay there until I need it. i've done that with all of my warranty cost of cars I've brought over 20 plus years. i now have a sizable CD, because I keep putting the cost of each warranty into the CD rather than buying the warranty. Keep any car's maintenance up and you won't have a major problem if it is a decent model and make. hope that helps.
