Does the HP PSC All in One 1400 Series support microsoft word?

I have a HP PSC All in One 1400 Series that works well except that when i scan documents it does not save them to a microsoft word document, they are opened in wordpad. Can some one tell me how to get my scanned documents opened in word.

Unless you are using OCR when you scan a document, then your are actually making a picture of the document that you are scanning. A scanner is in all actuality a camera.

There is probably a place in the scanner's software that will allow you to open the scanned document to what ever program that you wish, as long as that program can handle the file extension of the scanned document.
