Dear Aqila:
You make a valid point, but one thing you have overlooked.
Please do not put all 'Christians' in the same bag.
There are those claiming to be christian, but in truth, they are not.
Those who act the way you describe are an example.
Their actions are proving they are not really christian.

We are uncertain whether it is the woman's choice or not to be so covered. If she chooses, then fine -- I don't think it's an especially good choice, but it's her business. I've never seen anyone "mock" someone for it -- but people who make fun of others' clothing aren't really worth worrying about, are they?
The reason one might not think it's a good choice is that it seems to imply (1) that there's something wrong with the female body, and (2) that men can't control themselves. If (2) is true, then men should not be allowed on the streets at all; it's insane to cover women up if men are the problem.

I am a Christian and i think that Muslim women look very beautiful. The way they dress and the way they wear their hair is very attractive. I also dress in modest apparel and try to look nice. I have never and will never mock at Muslim women. I think they are strong women that should not be treated the way that some are treated by their husbands. I agree that the man is the head of the house. I also think that a man should treat his wife with love and kindness. Our Bible states that a man should love his wife the way that Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it. Women are Gods gift to men and should be treated as such.

I don't mock the hijab although I do not like the burka. I find the hijab quite beautiful and feminine.
The burka makes me feel uncomfortable. I can't see who is there and I don't like that.
Today I wore my pashmina around my head and neck for protection from the wind of winter and my daughter's thought I was strange.
There are many misconceptions in this world. People should try to be more understanding and accepting.
Kindness is not over rated!!!!

Atleast someone realized the sensitivity of a woman and their beauty. "Do you not think that under their garments, that there are beautiful clothing that only her husband shall see? " This is the beautiful thought and this is the truth. Unfortunately many muslim women also fails to understand this beauty.

As Salaamu Alaykum,
I have no idea why they do it. And if Maryam peace be upon her I would never mock her; I would admire her.
