The root cause of all sufferings is 'IGNORANCE'. Only a man who seeks and imbibes knowledge can go beyond suffering otherwise man shall remain forever condemned to miseries of physical life in an ever changing world.

Dear Anil,

It is THE MIND that is the root cause of all things including sufferings.

If the mind is cleansed through meditation and other recommended methods then the sufferings are reduced.

The more pure mind because , the sufferings are less and happiness is more.
So one has to remove the thoughts (chitta vrittis ) then one becomes less tense and Sufferings automatically reduce.

So it is the MIND that is playing all the tricks.

That is my humble opinion.

Desire.

And the elimination of desire is the root to ending suffering.

And the way to end desire is to follow the Noble Eightfold Path.

Gees, Buddha had this one worked out centuries before Christians started babbling about sin, which is about as plausible a cause as stale fairy dust.

There is no root cause of all suffering. Life is not easy. Our bodies give us physical pain as an imperfect means of helping us to survive as a species. And we can experience profound mental anguish as well, such as the death of a loved one. We have come up with all sorts of ways to ease the pain. Many people can train their mind to avoid suffering.
