I have a few friends who recently got married. We are seriously considering a few months after my upcoming wedding having a "Brides' Day" where we all dress up in our wedding gowns and go out for a day on the town -- perhaps to a museum or out for drinks. I think it is a shame that the most beautiful and expensive dress I own will only be able to be worn once! I would be utterly ridiculous to have four girls walking about together in their wedding dresses, and think of all the looks we would get, but I think it would be great fun!

I told my family, friends and co-workers I will wear my wedding dress every 25th of the month to work, shopping, where ever I will be that day because I don't want it to just sit in the closet after one wear for one day and it cost so much, LOL. I am joking but I will however wear it on the 25th of every month at home just for fun, until I can't fit it anymore, I think that is cute, try it for fun.

lol that's funny that you asked that! I do that every so often to make sure I still fit into it because we got married in a courthouse and plan on (someday) having the big wedding. it's a size 2 and I want to stay around there to not have to buy another dress. See we were supposed to have the big one but he came back from Iraq too soon and they only gave him a week to be home so that flew out the window! But yeah I do try on mine every so often! your not alone! (sometimes it's fun to imagine the day again!)

Why not do it? Are you ever going to wear it out of the house again? It's a laugh!
My husband most likely wouldn't be atall surprised if he came home from work and I had it on he'd laugh.

I haven't yet, but my dress is the sort of dress I could wear again anyway, I didn't go down the traditional wedding dress route so it wouldn't be dressing up if I wore it again.

I agree with you....I'm not keeping it but if I did not sure why I would sit there and wear it randomly. He wears his wedding clothes occasionally but that's just a suit and we got one specifically so he COULD wear it again.
I think if my husband found me walking around in my dress he would send me to the doctor because my meds have made me touched in the head.

Oh, I wish! After years, and after baby, the gown doesn't fit anymore! I did put it on at some point during the first year after we got married, though...
You should do it!

I say go for it. If it still fits it can make for some interesting and fun role-playing. Ask him to wear a suit as well.
