I cook it in the Turkey but you have to stuff it right before you put the turkey in the oven or bacteria will grow! I melt the butter I use and mix it all together, it will all cook in the turkey if you cook it and then stuff the turkey and cook the turkey it will dry out and not get the flavor from the turkey juices. If you use any kind of meat like italian sausage like I do then cook that before mixing it into the stuffing.

No, the stuffing cooks while the turkey does. Just remember to remove the stuffing immediately after taking the turkey out of the oven in order to prevent bacteria from developing in it.

You stuff a turkey in the present day previously putting it interior the oven. the subject of salmonella arises in case you stuff the poultry and then do no longer cook dinner it real away because of the fact the juices from the turkey can get into the stuffing and the temperature of the stuffing does not get extreme adequate to kill the micro organism. Stuffing the poultry later on does not make sense to me. The stuffing must be cooked for various hours. an option is to no longer placed the stuffing interior the poultry, yet bake it in a coated casserole dish alongside the poultry. as a effect, it relatively is no longer talked approximately as "stuffing" yet "dressing."

I cook the stuffing in the Turkey. It gives it better flavor. I have tried both ways, and in the bird is much better.

No, you don't cook it before stuffing your bird it will cook in the oven along with the bird, but your bird will take longer to cook if you stuff it. I prefer my stuffing separately in buttered casserole dish so that ti gets nice and crispy on the outside. YUM!

No, I dont think so. My mom just cooks it in the turkey each year since I was a baby(21 years ago)and it always comes out great and we have never gotten sick. Its the best way personally.

No, but don't let it sit out long before stuffing the bird and putting it in the oven. If you have extra cook that in an oven proof container as well..
