Am I mistaking about this? As far as I know satanism is an atheist religion in wich you worship nobody but yourself.

Oh jesus Ollie, I was expecting you to understand what I asked. I know an atheist doesn;t believe in either god or satan. That's not the point of my question.

There are a few Satanists that hang around here. Most of them seem to be pretty level people.

You are mostly correct. Most modern satanists practice Laveyan Satanism, based on the teachings of Anton Levay and his Church of Satan. Laveyan Satanism teaches that there are no gods, but that humans have the capacity to achieve godlike traits. Satan is merely an allegorical figure that represents man's primal desires. The church teaches people to fulfill those desires without harming others in the process.

There are a few theistic Satanists who actually worship Satan as a diety. I've met one or two here on YA!. Many theistic Satanists view Satan as a no-nonsense diety who has very little influence on human lives, but is occassionally willing to grant power in exchange for devotion. Theistic Satanists typically view Satan as a purveyor of knowledge, similar to the serpent in Genesis or Prometheus in Greek mythology. Theistic Satanists are normally polytheists.

A very small number of people worship the Christian concept of Satan as an act of rebellion. These are the guys that end up on the news after sacrificing animals and drive the public perception of Satanism.

Satanism is about worshiping yourself or the betterment of your self. It IS NOT the worship of the Christian devil. Of course there is much more too it and I am greatly simplifying it here.

Satanists are not necessarily Atheists though. An Atheist is a person that lacks belief in god, the devil, an afterlife, etc. due to a lack of evidence supporting those beliefs. Also, Atheism is not a religion. If you didn't believe in Santa Claus it wouldn't be called a religion. Atheism is actually a term that should not even exist, just as we don't have words like "Unastrologer" for lacking belief in Astrology.

Satanist is not an Atheist religion because Satan you see is the Lord they worship! it might be a bit of a different direction mind you ,but none the less they worship that goat boy the way the Christians worship ,well , you know!

Satanist worship SATAN, that's why it's called satanism!
The satanic bible teaches that gaining social and or economic power by ANY means is okay! I'm not a satanist, but I live in a city considered to have the highest concentration of satanists in the country.

I know several, and I've read most of their writing. The vast majority of them are really atheists just like you said. But you will occasionally find a theistic Satanist and there are even a few categories of them. Some are Christian rebels, some are polytheistic and worship Lucifer the Bringer of Light.

Perhaps that is what is confusing you. But your statement is right for the vast majority of Satanists.

If that were true it would mean most of the pople I know are not atheists but Satanists!

Athesists do NOT worship anyone, that's the whole point!

Satanists commit atrocities of rape, murder, torture and so forth AND WORSHIP SATAN ! HENCE THE NAME!!

I have been with people in the Hood that are atheists and their nails are long like a woman's nail and their words have actions and their minds speak of strengths.

The roles of just surviving and counting your money and running the girls and smoke their blunts give them a sense of power, but their biggest fear is God until aids came around and now their fears switched from God to Mans world and his doings and his brought diseases that lead them away from Jesus and they become atheists, speaking in terms of 16% minorities.

So to battle this they turn for some into Jehovas witness wich is another turn around into their beliefs and finding no peace in the Hood. only fire, storms, the smell of gunpowder and the sight of blood spilled on the streets.

The devils pay ground for fools stricken to addiction, but despite it all God is there and that is their fear when they get locked up that their beliefs as atheist have let them down and have nothing left, but to keep their mind right until they get out or pump weights.

The change is slight in behavior, but their insight is now looking towards Jesus.
How do you tell a man that is doing thirty-Years in Federal Prison that God is going to see him through this?

That's a joke.....your not going to get through to this man...his beliefs as an atheist is even a stronger atheist now and will not grow any closer or nearer to God. The devil's advocates just threw him a life line of hell.

Were talking about what Society has led us to believe that all atheists are no good when in fact they are people with knowledge in understanding what their beliefs are, but have no way of knowing how to get there when stricken with satins plans of destruction.

What is so proud to walk up a street with no job, no car, just money in your pocket and a hand full of rocks and they expect to believe in God?

The live for every minute of their life for tomorrow may never come for that man. This is a very good pure case of stereotypes in America believers of Christ or followers of Satin.
