I have had them before they made me feel really strange and dizzy! Cant remember feeling that though? I can remember having anti B once and they made my throat feel like that. Go see doc again or chemist? they made me feel strange when i came off them too so watch out for that and don't just stop taking them i think you reduce them slowly.
Hope you feel better soon x

Fluoxetine is a commonly prescribed anti-deppressant related to SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors)... like any other medicine there are some side effects associated with it, which are nausea, headache, and in some cases sexual dysfunction. However, their benefits outweigh the side effects...so, the fact that you feel sick shouldn't concern you...if it is too bad and you cannot tolerate it you can ask your doctor for some anti-emetic (anti-nausea) medications, or alternatively ask for a change of your medication...However, the "wierd feeling in your neck" is not a known side effect of Fluoxetine...it might be due to some other problem (which might not be serious), but it is best to check with your doctor and get examined properly to make sure everything is fine....
By the way, keep taking the anti-deppressant, it might take sometime till it lifts your mood up...GOOD LUCK

I was on Fluxotine for a year you need to give them a good couple of weeks for them to get into your system the only side effect that I had after about 10 months of being on them was that I had jerky body movements and I think that was my body's way of telling me I no longer needed to be on them. If you still have these symptoms after a couple of weeks go back and see your GP and he/she will possibly prescribe something else - Hope your feeling better soon x

I assume that you have just been prescribed them? For the first week or so you will feel strange in all sorts of ways! If you can rest up and bit it will help. I just slept solidly for two days when I went on to medication. I hope it helps you feel better by the way.

Have you told your GP about the whole range of side effects you are experiencing?
Have you checked these signs with the Patient Information Leaflet which is with your medicine , in the UKanyway.

my advice to you is to go to the MD again for you shouldnt feel like someone is squeezing your throat... that isnt NORMAL maybe they just are not the PILL for you and maybe you need something different.. tiredness yes, down sex drive yes, up hunger maybe maybe not, but not the tightness in the throat..... so GO BACK or get a different MD one who will listen to you.....

That weird feeling is the anxiety associated with depression.
Go back to your doctor so this can be addressed.
