As someone into mind-body healing I would say that fibromyalgia (muscle fibre pain) is most likely a stress-related condition. Different 'experts' seem to have various criteria for arriving at the diagnosis of this condition (eg certain number of tender trigger points on the body).

Mental and emotional stress will cause changes in body chemistry and allow muscle fibres to be more easily fatigued or inflamed. Thoughts affect physiology.

My opinion is to seek a naturopath, osteopath, shiatsu or kinesiology expert, body psychotherapist or stress counsellor as part of an holistic support for your recovery.

Fibro, many things can be done for it. First try a mattress topper for your bed which will allow the trigger points not to be triggered. Then you can try the new drug Lyrica not sure if that has moved into Fibro where you reside. Then back massages, have them myself along with exercise, just walking.
