Hi friend. A testimony of Jesus Christ and a testimony of Joseph Smith, the prophet through which Christ restored His Church, to some extent go hand in hand. If your faith in Christ is lacking, I suggest you start there. Build your testimony around Christ.

If you already have a testimony of Christ, then you are ready to build upon that firm foundation. The Mormon revelatory process has two steps. According to Doctrine and Covenants 9:8, if one wants to get a message from God, she needs to first study the question out in her mind, and second ask God if her tentative decision or conclusion is right. This revelatory process is the same for any member of the Church, from a primary teacher to a prophet.

So to receive personal revelation that Joseph Smith was a prophet, you must first study the question out in your mind. Studying in this sense would involve reading the Book of Mormon, the fruit of Joseph’s work, as well as studying the life of Joseph Smith from accurate sources (not anti-Mormon trash). Additionally, spend time pondering why God uses prophets, both ancient and modern; ponder why prophets are so important. During this process of studying and pondering, pray to God, asking Him for guidance. Ask Him to reveal to you that Joseph was His true prophet. God will answer in His own due time...don't rush Him. Perhaps the answer will come immediately, but perhaps it will come only after years of studying and pondering. With patience, however, you can come to know the truth of all things.

Hope this helps. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, an instrument in Christ's hands to restore His gospel once again to the earth.

Well Jose Smith was a fine dancer and he had a way with the ladies. He formed the all Mormon dancers way back during those turbulent times and took those high steppers around different homesteads showing the good and Godly folk what impressional dance was all about, influenced a couple of dancing Frenchmen along the way and is accredited with bring modern dance to Europe! That should be reason enough to have faith in Little Joe (as his friends liked to call him) but he also was know for space travel in an all wooden space ship he fabricated out of fine pieces of drift wood he'd collected back in Missouri. what a guy, truly ahead of his time in both dance and space travel. Some say when we visit other planets we'll find Mormons have already colonized them.

Isn't this the Joseph Smith who claimed some angel came down with a drawn sword and forced him to commit adultery? Isn't this the same city boy who claimed he is better than Jesus? And you want people to find faith in this guy? Didn't he have some kind of a lucky rock tied around his neck when he was dragged out his jail cell after being arrested for fraud or something along those lines and then murdered? And you want people to find faith in him? Yeah..really lucky guy.

Joseph Smith ( aka Muhammed ) .

Well, I'm Christian and I have a question back at you. I know your question is true and why is it that you are trying to find faith in a dead man instead of the living? Jesus Christ.
I used to live in Idaho which is filled with Mormons. I've had tremendous opportunity to have discussion with Mormons and I offer you the same question. Have you ever sat down and tried to figure out how Jesus Christ (brother of satan) fits into this thing? Look it up!
99% of the Mormons I talked to do not have a clue what the foundational belief of this cult really is. The only Jesus Christ in the "religion" is in the name. Don't question me - look into your own documents!

Blind faith is what it is about. You have to believe it no matter what kind of evidence is out there to prove it wrong. You have to keep telling yourself you believe, and eventually you will believe. At least that is how others do it. I tried to believe but just couldn't overlook the truth. But if you do what the church says to do, only read things that say he is a prophet, then you will eventually trick yourself into believeing it. If you look at research for both sides, (as most intelligent people do) you will not get the faith.

Moroni 10:3-4
Don't listen to the people who make up lies about Joseph Smith. You have to find out for yourself. I have also had doubts, but I found out for myself that the Church is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet.
Just read your scrips, bro. ; )

Each cult has its own bible. It may be a book that is added to the Bible or it may be a book that substitutes for the Bible. In either case, the replacement book is a false source for truth. God said about His Book, the Bible, "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Revelation 22:18 & 19. The Bible stands alone as God’s Word, and needs no additional book to explain or complete it.
