I think it's the bowl-like thing in the hair saloons, right?
Normally they apply hot oil then steam it (reminds me of dimsum). I had done it a few times and yes your hair will be soft and smooth.
It took me 30 minutes and felt nice. But I was told too much can cause split ends.

I'm not sure what you mean by "hair steaming" but I have a wet to dry straightener which steams when I use it on my damp hair. It is actually good for your hair (as long as you use a heat protector with it) as it actually helps to seal the moisture in.

I just got the new CHI Wet to Dry straightener... It is awesome.. it goes against everything I ever learned about hair.. It takes out the time you would have drying your hair with a dryer.. You have to use a serum and heat protector so that you save your hair... But any heat you put on your hair is going to cause damage... Hair dryer, curling iron, flat iron is going to cause damage... You have to get trims...

Go to an American woman salon ( One is placed in Chicago) and they're going to repair the hair. Or you'll ship it to the "Doll Hospital" ( Information in Middle of Catalog) Check internet site for main points

No, drying your hair out makes it dry. Even if you're drying it out using steam.

My girlfriend is always talking about "that skank down the street and her fried hair" meaning don't use that iron thing on your hair unless you want it fried I guess.
