I had an uncle who was lost when his A20 (A-26) went down off of Okinowa in September, 1945. I would like to know more about it.

Inquire at the circumstances of the death of your uncle at the archives of World War II accidents.

Seems like your question will have to be addressed to a Department of Defence office, I would imagine in WW2 there were many hundreds of accidents or if you know his unit look for a Unit web-page.
