George Dare was in the King's own Dragoons. I have records of his promotions until 1815 when he was a Colonel. No record since. Perhaps he was killed at Waterloo if the regiment was there. Any information would be gratefully received

Sorry, but if there's nothing after Waterloo, 1815, then the probability is that Major George Rusfell-Deare of the 8th Regiment Light Dragoons, may have been killed.

Am looking for 8th but this is what I'm getting. Could be the 8th were disbanded around 1814 and re-numbered but as what, I'm not certain : -

26th Light Dragoons, 26th Hussars [UK]

From what I have found, it seems the 8th were an Irish regiment - you may have to widen your search unto Ireland.

You need not search anymore. I'm sorry to have to inform you that Mr. Deare has passed away many years ago.
Whearas, I didn't actually know the man personally I can only assume this due to the fact that, if he were alive, he would certainly be over 200 years old.
