That's the problem with this issue . . . they've taken a good idea (knowing who is in your country and having a comprehensive yet easy to understand immigration policy) and allowed the craziest of the craziest to lead the front . . . the people who want "to shoot on site." Meanwhile, the normal people are all running for cover. My main problem with immigration is that it is too hard to get in legally . . .

Because not everyone that opposes illegal immigration and dislikes the idea of a person taking their job for a far lower salary is racist; some just think anyone that unjustly came into this country and could possibly harm others (not necessarily physically) simply doesn't belong. Some racists choose to hide behind this idea because, really, the fear of not being able to support your family affects some people everyday and isn't "bad" like racism itself.

An illegal alien is not a race. If you are speaking of the U.S. in your "question", we deported illegal aliens from over 180 countries last year. Obviously illegal aliens comprise ALL races. Therefore it's illogical to claim racism in enforcement of immigration laws.
P.S. Americans of ALL races oppose illegal aliens.
The United States accepts more legal immigrants than any other country on EARTH.
So now we have people of all races opposing an issue comprising all races. The claim of racism is a copout. It's the last desperate act of someone that HAS NO LOGICAL ARGUMENT.
We have LOGIC on our side.
We have the LAW on our side.
We have ALL countries on our side.
What do YOU have??? The false claim of racism.
Leah. Degrees from foreign countries are not accepted without first being interpreted and evaluated by an international evaluator. Standards of education vary throughout the world, some being better and some being worse than the U.S. Foreign degrees MUST be evaluated to set a fair standard.
The blanket statement you used is incorrect.

Please look into Illegal immigration. Not all illegal Aliens are Hispanic. Places like New York have a higher percentage of European Illegals than Mexican.
If anything you are showing yourself to be a racist.
Also if you can give me one reason why people can not be legal and have to be illegal then I would like to hear it. With current rules the only reason I can come up with is being lazy.
Sexy Mama - The only illegal I know is from the UK and lives in New York working in a bar. He has a degree in microbiology but still prefers to be illegal. I'd happily say to any illegal, not all Mexican are illegal, what I thought of them. I'd love to see if they could give me one reason why they couldn't be legal.
Edit ---
Leah Amor De Luis Pedraza - Very few countries degrees are not recognized by America, mainly African. British and Industrialized nations degrees are equal, and in some case considered higher, to American degrees. Also the processing time on a H2A or H2B visa is 15 days. It costs $500 to get a visa legally compared to the average $2500 that is paid to enter America illegally. A Mexican applying for a visa would have the same wait as anyone else, the only reason a visa could take around 10 years is if the person has a criminal record or has already been removed for illegal immigration.

I think most xenophobic racists are quite comfortable with their xenophobia and their racism and don't hide them behind anything.
Race has nothing to do with the issue of illegal immigration. Send the white illegals home first -- I'll be just as as happy to see them go!

Why must the big corporations smuggle undocumented workers into my country to work for substandard wages? Why do those big corporations think that my tax dollars should pay for the infrastructure necessary to accomodate one million new arrivals every year? Why do they want government benefit programs diluted by the inclusion of non-payees? Why does our government fail to enforce immigration laws, which have a tradition dating further back than the U.S. itself, and which every other nation enforces? Why doesn't the Vatican invite a few million to camp out in St. Peter's Square? And why should I care about foreigners when so many of my fellow citizens, white, black, and Hispanic, are unemployed, losing their homes, and unable to keep up with inflation?

To me, the hilaious part is how some wingnuts like to use the word racist to identify anyone else they disagree with.
Why must the xenophobic racists in this country hide behind illegal drug use to justify their racism?
Why must the xenophobic racists in this country hide behind illegal traffic laws to justify their racism?
Why must the xenophobic racists in this country hide behind illegal school testing to justify their racism?
Why must the xenophobic racists in this country hide behind illegal widgets to justify their racism?
How about this?
Why can't xenophobic moonbats in this country understand what the word illegal means?

Maybe it is because we actually believe that just because a person is from a non-White nation they are not immune to our laws--like the one against entering this Nation illegally. That is right, some of are tired of the 'we owe the world' mentality and do not want the world living with us--especially illegally. And some of us do not care if you call us xenophobes or racists--in fact we laugh at your attempts to key word us into submission.

I'm hispanic, and I do not believe in illegal immigration. Am I a racist? I believe in any nation being able to enforce its laws and borders. Just to prove my point, I married a mexican in Mexico and waited for 1 year and a half before she could come. I didn't go around the law and sneak her in.

Why don't you immigrate to Mexico illegally and see what happens to you. While you and others like you are ranting about those of us who happen to believe that laws are to be enforced always try to make us to be the bad guys. I suppose that you also want the murderers and rapist to go free also.
