pagan temples throughout Europe? These images do not just resemble the catholic pictures but are exactly the same. Why does the Roman Catholic Church use these pictures still if they are obviously pagan?

Are you not aware of the Great Commission, when Jesus commands us to "Go forth and make disciples of all nations"? I'm sure you are.
The best way to do this is to properly sanctify that which was not previously sancitfied. It is entirely possible for a pagan house of worship to become a Christian house of worship. This would clearly explain the Christian images found in ancient temples.
Have you not actually seen such places for yourself? There are Christian Church's in what was then called Asia Minor, in which the houses of worship have Catholic, Byzantine Orthodox and even Muslim influences in their decor - because the same building was used as a house of worship by different relgions during different periods of time.

The Catholics use that image symbol because it represents the notion that it was through Mother Mary that Jesus was born. Jesus is the only one who can defeat satan.

They probably do this to gain as many converts as they can, kind of like if you can't beat them join them kind of philosophy.

Get ready for the bible thumpers to tell you that they don't worship a pagan religion, they just incorporated all of the pagan stuff in order to get the pagans into their pagan religion.
