Catholics believe a lot of unbiblical things.
Edit: If what the person below me says is true, Catholicism is even more messed up than I originally thought. Jesus said "I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life. NO ONE comes to the Father BUT BY ME".

I apologize for arch0049. He doesn't know what he is talking about, and makes the rest of us look bad.
Catholics (of all types, be it Roman, Orthodox, or just plain Catholic) believe that the only way to God, to heaven, to bliss, is indeed through belief in Jesus and only belief in Jesus. We also recognize that God is infinitely merciful. While we do believe that our way of worship is the most proper, we also believe that one can enter heaven no matter the Christian denomination, so long as there is true faith in Jesus, and that one way of worship is *the* only way to enter heaven.
There is an interesting differentiation and miscommunication associated with Catholicism and it's belief in the means of entering a given afterlife. I see that many have stated that Catholics believe many "unbiblical" (I feel dirty even quoting such corruption of the English language) things, and would like some time to clarify.
1 - Catholics do not believe that actions determine whether or not someone goes to Heaven or Hell. Catholics believe that only through faith in Jesus can one enter Heaven, and that good acts are done with true faith (that is that one is not truly faithful if they do not do good to the best of their ability). Other denominations think that simply believing grants access.
2 - Catholics have only one deity. I see that Roman Catholicism is automatically assumed to be the only form of Catholicism on the planet by most people, so, I shall defend that first. Roman Catholics believe that Mary lived without sin, to be worthy of bearing God's child, and in the immaculate conception of Jesus Christ. This makes Mary important and a Saint (A saint is a person chosen by god to do his work on earth. It is important to note that one does not have to be recognized by the church (which only happens after death) to be a Saint. the church could not keep record of all of the Saints, and they do admit this), not another deity. Many people think that Catholics prey directly to Mary and the other Saints. This is not true. A saint's prayer is thought to be more effective then the prayer of a normal person. Thus, they ask the saints to prey with them and for them. They do not prey to the saints. Yes, Roman Catholics believe in Purgatory. They change their minds on this issue every few hundred years. Yes, this is a flaw in Roman Catholic belief.
Moving on: Orthodox Catholics do not prey to the saints. They recognize outstanding individuals in all denominations of Christianity who helped to spread the word of god (I know that the way I phrased it made that sound like a reward, but it is much more then that), and recognize Mary as one of those individuals. If you need further clarification on this tell me. I may be assuming that more is understood before-hand then actually is.
3 - Catholics do not use Idles. The Bible states specifically never to have an image of God. This is important. It puts him above all other Pagan god's of the time, and yet again shows that he is the master, not the populous. This does not ban the use of images of others so long as they are not preyed to. Catholics use images of the saints as reminders and decorations, not for worship itself.
Now, a direct answer to your Question: because being a catholic is what we believe is the best form of worship. If we did not think that we were right, then why else would we be catholic?
Edit: billdo_oreilly needs to take a history lesson or two. That is a Roman Obelisk which was built as a decoration by the Romans, not an Egyptian one. Perhaps you are thinking of the Obelisk in New York, if you are thinking at all.

Not necessarily.
The Catholic Church teaches:
Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.
Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.
All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

With love in Christ.

Let me guess, you think Catholics believe all non-Catholics will go to hell simply for being non-Catholic.
Let me take this opportunity to be even more discriminate - not even all Catholics are going to make it to heaven.

What a stupid question. Are you a Christian? I think you want to stir up trouble .You only have to say the word "Catholic" and the devil is unleashed !
It is impossible to explain to non Catholic Christians about our faith. They cannot grasp what we tell them . They have got it in their minds what we do is wrong, idol worship, praying to Mary etc.We tell them over and over they have the wrong concepts but it is no use.You may as well talk to a brick wall.

RockaSta,
YOU ARE THE FOOL..
catholics were not the first ones to have the bible and hold christian gatherings.
the early church of ACTS were the first ones. all of them were equal, all of them prayed, gave tesimonies, shared about God, loved, saw miracles.
they were not a power-based church. they did not have SO MANY SCRIPTURAS or doctrines of their own.
their faith were simple: Jesus is the Son of God who died and rose again. they just wanted to tell people abt Jesus. they did not even CARE about who mary was, who the pope was, about penance, purgatory, whatever crap the catholic church has now.
