Because of gravity the earth has a spherical shape...So because of the cuve of the earth when you look up, you only see sky...

All that has to do with the earth's formation....Attractive forces and all that.

If you look north you would be looking towards Canada.

When God makes something, He makes it right....

Edit:
Looking north towards Canada also depends on where you are on the globe...If you look north in many places you would be looking towards Russia, Greenland, and the parts of Europe west of Russia such as Finland and Scandanavia, or Iceland, or the Arctic Polar Ice Cap (which is not part of Europe).....

What has Canada got to do with the way the world is designed? The earth is shaped like a sphere so of course you don't see Canada if you're too far away.

And in answer to the 2nd part of your question, I trust God. I trust God over anything and everything man-made.
