If you're talking about religious or spiritual matters, fact is completely unimportant. Jesus, Mohammed, Vishnu, Ras Tafari and whoever else you can think of that was a messenger or phrophet of god might have been real people or they might have been completely made up, but the important part is the ideas they were said to put forward. I think all of the miracles and crazy events (whether real or imagined) are just worked into the stories to make them more interesting, because an interesting plot line is how to drive the story home. If you're talking about matters of science, then fact an myth actually go hand in hand. Many myths are simply facts that have been disproven, and many facts are myths that have been studied and clarified - and both have been busted many times before. It used to be fact that the planet was flat, that moonlight was the cause of insanity, and (more recently) that global cooling was a pending reality. Those were all backed up by mountains of hard evidence, so they were facts in their day.

Actually at least one of these is incorrect. In spite of popular myth the "rule of thumb" has nothing to do with wife beating. It is an old English law that says the length of the first joint of a man's thumb can be considered an inch in measurement. A yard was the the distance from your nose to your fingertips this was used to measure cloth.

Susan Lucci was born to Jeanette and Victor Lucci. She attended Garden City High School in Garden City, New York, graduating in 1964. She then attended Marymount College at Fordham University, and graduated from Marymount in 1968.
Lucci's father, Victor, was a first-generation American. Phyllis Diller, contrary to various internet rumors, is not her mother.

Both. Without myth, there will be no fact because facts came from myths which were proven with valid explanation. Without fact, a myth will be a myth forever. They both co-exist much the same way as left and right, black and white, or north pole and south pole.
