jj The liberals tend to view life on the basis of worth. A fetus isn't worth anything, so why let it become a burden on me? This is the way the evils of nazism began. Simple violations of human rights, disguised as benifiting the people, and soon they were carried down the slippery slope that is liberalism. I know many will say "But wait Alex, nazi germany was in no way liberal, it was facist." I would reply that their understandings of facism and liberalism are incorrect then. I shalnt go over the similarities further here, as I'm sure you are aware of them (for instance, the insistance on a stronger government and its interferance in our lives by removal of religion from society and taxation to employ social changes [smoking, transfatty foods and the like]). Anyway, I've diverted from the subject at hand. The point i was making is that once abortion is universally accepted as the ultimate in comfort and ease in life, then what is to stop the next steps, such as euthinasia of the elderly, the homeless, the mentally and physically handicapped, born and yet to be born, and so on and so forth until we are genetically enegering designer babies in the womb! The real threat is not really abortion in itself, but the threat of abortion becoming lax and accepted, and what that could lead to. Nature and norms as we know it are threatened if these liberal agendas are allowed to continue.

Honey, your Daddy doesn't know those women, or their stories. Sometimes life is very hard and some women have thought it easier to have a abortion, some have them for medical reasons. However, if they have had surviving children, then YES, they are allowed to celebrate Mothers' Day. There is no such thing as an "anti-mother".

my mama had an abortion before I was born, I would have had an older brother. even though sometimes I wish that she hadn't, my brother would not have had a very good life, and I'm just glad that she was smart about when and where she brought me into the world. I love my mother and even if there were laws against it, we would celebrate mother's day because I appreciate the things that she did for me. So stop judging my momy. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES.

I can't believe that you would judge that many people so quickly.
I have a very good friend who had an abortion when she was 16. You know why? Because her stepdad not only routinely beat her senseless, but raped her as well. She was carrying his child. When she told him, he gave her rat poisen and kicked her stomach with all his might. It didn't work, so she ran away and had an abortion. She was 16, horrendously abused, and a self-injurer, enough to have been hospitalized several times due to self inflicted injuries.
Would you really want that girl raising a child? Maybe in 10 years, but not then!

SDW is so right.... Mother's Day is a very hard day for some women who have had an abortion... for whatever reason... until you've been in HER shoes, you shouldn't even try to make a statement like that.... and your daddy's a dork....

The word that bothers me here is "allowed". Who will be the great judge that will decide who is "allowed" to celebrate what? Maybe people who "cast the first stone" should not be allowed to celebrate Christmas? Or vegetarians to celebrate Thanksgiving? What is this, the "Brave new World"?

If they are still mothers, they should celebrate Mother's Day. What does your father know about being a mother?

Well, that is up to them but the guilt can and should be over-whelming.
I have never met a woman yet who did not feel guilt about having a abortion.
Life is a choice. Getting pregnant is a choice.
Btw, there was a time in the US when a woman would die before hurting an innocent baby, any baby.

No they shouldn't. They made a choice to kill a child, to kill an inconvenice to them.
To be a mother would mean that you have had a child. Or in sad cases you have miscarried but there was no intentions of distroying the pregnancy.
( i'm a step mom, but a mom as well. I lost a child to miscarriage. Now i do believe there are people in this world who have had the unfortunate happenings of rape to those it breaks my heart. They i believe have the right to an abortion if they so choose. It's hard enought to be raped, but to go through a 9 month prengancy if you can't do it mentally under that kind of a situation)
