It most certainly will but don't forget that you need a seperate audio cable, one with red/white phono plugs.

SVideo is a big jump using a DVD player.

But when I did not find as dramatic a change with a CATV box going from Composite to SVideo.

Here is the issue: If the source (like a DVD) already contains separated video, using a SVideo cable passes along the benefit of the production studio equipment.

If the source (like a CATV box) has it's video mixed or in 'composite' form, A cheap filter in the box provides the SVideo signal and this is usually crappy. Your TV with RF or 'composite' cable can often do a better job.

You just have to test your box and see for yourself.

Analogue cable box?? They still have those? Good grief!

Get a new cable from the wall box to your cable box. That should sort it. If your cable box has a SCART output then use that.

The source you use is only 3 to 6 feet away from your TV....

Not much improvement, but it can help make your colors cleaner/less noisy.
