Are there similarities between atheists and Islamicists?

Question

Apart from their rejection of Christ do you see similarities? It seems to me they are like mirror reversed twins.
Islamicists distort scripture;atheists distort history:eg Bible is corrupt (but the bit of the Paraclete is true) ,atheists (some) claim Jesus never existed.Have you seen atheists and Islamicists help out at natural disasters eg.tsunamis,earthquakes or help their own during war.It's like they believe in letting the 'dead bury the dead'.(that's as close as they'll get to the Bible).
They both don't seem to have leaders that you can hold accountable.
Feel free to add some more similarities.

Atheists and (Muslims) are much different. Atheists dont believe in a god... Whereas (Muslims) do!

I have to agree with Paul B and SDW, hands down.

They are not "Islamicists," they are "Muslims" - get it right.

Islam does not distort the Bible, it has changed the Bible. From where do you get your so-called facts? Islam has its own Scripture, this is the Holy Qur'an. Muslims DO NOT reject Christ, noooo. They believe he was a most revered Messenger of God, and they, like Christians, believe in his return.

Muslims have much more in common with Christians, and even more in common with Jews. How can Islam and Atheism be even remotely related? Atheists do not believe a god exists, and Islam teaches of the belief in one God - the same Judeo-Christian God that you, and most people, believe in.

Atheists do not believe in prayer, nor do they have a holy book. Islam has and believes in both.

Atheism does not have any "profession of faith" but Islam does. The Shahada is the Islamic creed, its profession of faith:

There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

I could go on and on and on and on, but I don't feel like it. The only similarity between Muslims and Atheists is that both are human beings and both live on the planet Earth.

You really need to do a lot more homework before making public statements like this, because your claim is 100% erroneous.

Of course atheists help out at natural disasters. They just don't run about shouting' ooh look, see how being an atheist makes us good people that help the needy'. Unlike religious groups, that are forever banging their own drums.

Your question is damn offensive to all the non Christian people I know. I'm an atheist, and I do all I can to help people from an innate sense of altruism. I don't need to be bribed (with heaven) or threatened (with hell) to help other people. Every good deed on this world comes from kind human hearts, not from some imaginary god.

You must have a very low opinion of your own species if you think they are callous and uncaring unless whiplashed into charitable actions by the fear of your god.

I can see the similarity between you and an Islamicist: you preach at some length with very little foundation to your wildly inaccurate claims and clearly don't allow the truth to get in the way of a good story.

Atheism is not a religion, so atheists will generally help anyone in need - we don't feel the need to restrict our generosity to those who will repay us nicely because we're Christians.

In the spirit of the scientific disproof of theory, I can show how yours in incorrect by pointing that I regularly donate to particular charities and I also take the time to assist in a soup kitchen for the homeless. Some of these people I know to be atheists, so not only am I helping unfortunate Christians, but I'm also helping unfortunate atheists. Of course, I don't need to wear a badge and belong to a church so I can feel 'holier than thou' to do it!

As for the bible being textually corrupt, sorry, but it actually is. There is no single translation of the biblical texts that is wholly accurate. That makes the text corrupt.

And, read up on some of your World History. When Israel was created and Thousands of Christians lost their homes, some took shelter with Muslims. European Muslims in current day Bosnia, Croatia and Albania hid Jews from the Nazis.

Are you serious? Examples, please. We're not a uniform group, and let me put it this way, the 700 year-old Library of Alexandria didn't burn due to the irreligious. Many religions are a history of falsehoods -- in the case of Christianity, the Council of Nicaea voted on the divinity of Jesus, and the religion was perpetuated for social and political agendas from the Late Roman Empire onward. This is my view, and it is up for debate. Please read ancient history before you claim atheists are a homogeneous group or are guilty of deceit.
