my son is now 15 months old and my daughter is 2 months old. Ever since my son was little i have never been able to leave them with anyone. Til this day no one has ever babysat them except for my mom like twice. But for some reason i am so scared about letting anyone watch them. I think my mom kinda gets upset and i feel bad but for some reason i cant seem to detatch myself from them. Is this a bad thing?? I need advice please!

It is your instinct to protect them since they are too little to protect themselves, or tell you about anything that is wrong. I did not have any babysitters outside of family members or dear, close friends until my oldest was 6 and could clearly talk to me about any events that happened. Even after that, it was rare I had outside sitters.

Dont worry it is normal for a mother who has bonded with her children to not want to leave them in anyone elses care. You do not sound like you are over attached just like you are attached which is a good thing. Both you and your children will know when the time is right for them to be babysat by someone. Also it is perfectly normal for grandma to want to care for her grandchildren after all she is hard wired to want to care for you as your mother and your children are a part of you. Please give yourself time. You will not be moving into your childrens dorm rooms with them honestly have you ever heard of this happening. Some children are never cared for by anyone but there parents until they are in elementary school and grow up to be prefectly healthy well adjusted adults in fact they are better adjusted then many adults whos parents did not form the same loving attachment bond.

Your children have to get used to being around adults. You have a mother's natural concern about your children, but you seem to be somewhat overprotective of them. There are many highly qualified babysitters around. If you keep holding your children to close they will find it very hard to adjust to the real world when it's time for them to go to school -- so will you.

I would think the same thing but being attached to your children is a natural reaction all mammals on earth do.
