Ok christians, if your Jesus is the same as your god and your Jesus died on a cross for "our sins".
Why? Exactly what debt was he paying and to whom, by sacrificing himself if he is supposed to be your supreme being?

The christian god is an omnipotent being that was utterly powerless to "forgive" sins until he appeased himself by sacrificing himself to himself. The christian god supposedly had to do this because of all the "sins" that people commit.

The bible says that everyone has sinned. So basically, the bible says that it is impossible for humans to avoid sinning. Therefor, the christian god created a race that absolutely HAD to sin and could not avoid sinning no matter how hard they tried. Despite the fact that god designed humans in such a way that it was impossible for them to avoid sinning, it is somehow still OUR fault that we are "sinful".

Luckily, the christian god came up with a brilliant plan where he would commit temporary suicide and magically make everything all better. However, everything will only be all better for people that somehow are able to convince themselves that this god exists and that he temporarily commited suicide for them.

Of course, the christian god was very careful to avoid any sort of concrete proof that any of this ever happened or that he exists at all.. Otherwise, it would be too easy for people to believe the stuff they have to believe to avoid being set on fire forever by the christian god. The christian god apparently thinks that giving humans any sort of evidence that anything in christianity is true would somehow be cheating.

I hope this clears things up for you.

Most Christians would opt for contacting a Women's Pregnancy Center which would help with the adoption process. No one expects women to raise children when they are poor. Most would hope that adoption would be considered. You do know that abortion rights were voted in by many who were told it would never be used as birth control? That is how it was sold to the masses. Half of of all U.S. women having an abortion have had one previously. Poor women could take a morning after pill. It would be cheaper than an abortion. Poor women can also date men who use condoms and take a monthly shot or avoid sex when they are ovulating for a whole week. I am not for restricting women's rights. I do not picket nor would I judge a woman who chooses to abort. I believe the people were sold a lie about the real reasons for abortion . It was a way to limit African American populations.

That's a good question. First off though, if by "our" you mean EVERYBODY, that is not the case. Jesus DID NOT die for everybody, instead He died for true Christians. If Jesus died on the cross for everyone, His crucifixion would have been in vain, for He died for the remission of sins for His servants (Christians), not those who don't believe in Him.
Secondly, before Jesus Christ came, in the Old Testament, in order to be right in the sight of God, men had to sacrifice animals as burnt offerings. Jesus' crucifixion did indeed symbolize the ending of burnt offerings to get to God. Rather, now, those who believe in Him must simply repent to be forgiven by God. Jesus is the Ultimate Sacrifice. Because of Him, Christians no longer have to offer up animals because Jesus scarificed Himself for us on the cross.
Jesus was and is our Supreme Being. He is and was God even before His death.

I am not a Christian but I believe in Jesus. Jesus was a great soul who was sent on earth by God to teach a lesson of humanism and forgiveness to ignorant humans who had gone astray. Even to this day every true Christian seeks to follow the path of compassion, love and mercy as shown by Jesus. Jesus never claimed to be GOD neither do Christians claim so. You got to have a deeper understanding of the teachings and sacrifice of Jesus rather than knowledge based upon heresay. If you are not serious enough about Jesus, please leave the great soul alone. Already ignorant people have been unnecessarily dragging Jesus into petty controversies because of their own lack of knowledge and wisdom rather than any shortcoming of Jesus.

I'll try to be as brief as possible.

1.Jesus is the Son of God.

2. Jehovah (God, Jesus' Father) created a perfect man. That man sinned and became imperfect. That imperfection passed on to his children (i.e all of us). Jehovah's standards of justice require that any sinner must die.

But we became sinners through no fault of our own, so to balance the scales of justice (eye for an eye, soul for a soul) to buy back the children of Adam sold into sin, another perfect life had to be given.

Seeing there was no perfect man on earth, only Jesus could play that role.

3. The payment was made to God.

Some feel that this is like taking money out of one pocket and paying it into your other pocket. But really, it is more like a sentencing judge deciding to help the criminal pay his fine.
The fact that the fine was paid is the bottom line.

4. No, Jehovah remains our Supreme Being. Jesus is now our King in God's Kingdom, having been given the kingship by Jehovah.

he wasn't paying a dept to anyone. He came down to reconnect us with him and the Father. What you have to understand is that before Jesus people who believed in God had to make animal sacrifices as a way of asking for forgiveness/ thanking God. When Jesus died he drew us out of that sin so that we may have a relationship with Him. Doesn't mean there still isn't sin that we can fall into but with Gods help we can get out of it.

Divine justice requires satisfactory atonement for offenses against God, and God is the only one who gets to determine what constitutes proper and appropriate satisfaction.

Man was unable to atone for his own sins, so God sent his son as a perfect and sinless man, to do the job for us.

Christ's death accomplished three things:

1) Because Jesus was unjustly put to death by the forces of evil, Satan was cast out and his evil dominion was destroyed, as a result.

2) As a result of Jesus' atoning sacrifice, God's wrath due to our sins was turned to grace, and his condemnation due to those sins was turned to mercy.

3) Jesus is now the new head of all mankind, Jesus having succeeded where both Adam and Satan failed.

Now, anyone can receive a share in the Kingdom of God simply by declaring faithful allegiance to Jesus, typically through baptism.

Without Jesus' atonement, all of mankind would still be eternally enslaved to Satan, sin, and death.

Eze 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

To defeat death, the second death, Satan, legally, innocent blood had to be shed.

ok, I am gonna put this in layman terms, simple and to the point...... Jesus is God , manifest in the flesh..... He came to die for our sins, and to pay off the mortgage satan holds on the earth and humans..... when Adam ate the forbidden fruit, he dropped the ball, Adam was to have dominion over the earth, to rule it, he would have lived forever !!! In Revelation it speaks of the scroll that no one was able to touch or to open, but Jesus was able, kin and was willing, goes back to Jewish tradition there, but Jesus was the ONLY sinless person and Holy enough to not only open the scroll but to pay it off, which means we are bought back from sin (satan)......satan is the god of this world, Bible tells us this NOT me, good, bad ,ugly and beautiful, satan rules it !!!!! Jesus will put satan away, in the lake of fire when the end comes, and Jesus will rule the New Earth, also in the Bible NOT my words, when that time comes....... go in peace...... God bless

Instead of watching the movie (so to speak) and listening to every one else try to explain it, You should read the book. I think the only way you can understand the story is to read it yourself. If you don't want to read it, then you probably don't really care to find out the answers, and only posted this question to stump all the Christians with your quick wit. Sorry, thousands of years, and a lot of the same questions haven't changed there minds yet.
