Sugar-free gum will only help you to not get cavities. It is not meant to help you lose weight and it won't.
Diet sodas will not help you to lose weight, either. If you drink a lot of sugar drinks (Kool-Aid, regular soda, etc.) then switching to diet sodas will stop you from gaining weight from all the sugar drinks. But if you don't exercise and still eat the wrong things and too much of them.....you will STILL gain weight.
The ONLY way to lose weight is through diet and exercise. You need to start eating the right kinds of foods, no junk or fast food, eating the correct portions of healthy foods and exercise EVERY day for 1 hour.

Diet sodas are deceptive. Many people are tricked into believing that because they are "diet", then it's okay to drink more of them. In the end, many people end up consuming more calories with the diet sodas than with the regular ones. I'd recommend cutting back on sodas a little bit at a time until you are off them completely. This way you can lose weight instead of gaining it.

No. Recent studies show the opposite in relation to diet soda's. Because your body thinks it is getting a good energy supply from sugar (because the drink tastes sweet) it stores other foods as fat. Drink water instead, it's healthier. Save the sodas for the occasional treat (once or twice a week).

No. These foods keep you 'addicted' to sweet foods. Thus, you keep eating the wrong types of food.
