I've been searching online and can't find how much is too much. I took 4 oxycotin, each 5mg, so 20mg total. Could this cause an overdose? Should I be worried? Please help guys, I'm a little worried. And just so everyone knows, I didn't just take it for "fun." My back was absolutely killing me, which is why I took them. But now I'm worried that I took too much.

Depending on how long you've been on narcotics, it could cause troubles. Best to call the Poison Control center at 1-800-222-1222 (in the US). It's open 24/7 and it's free of charge and they typically answer in less than a minute.

Are you sure they were oxycontin? If they were it's slow release so you would be fine, but they don't make 5mg oxycontin, they do make OXY-IR, Percocet, Roxicet, etc. which are all Immediate release.

You Should be fine, but that's a big enough dose to worry about. Check your pulse, respiratory depression, and stay awake! If you feel like you can't possibly keep your eyes open, call an ambulance.

Sorry, I put some stuff in here about recreational use, but I didn't see that you took them for pain. It has been proven that people in pain can handle far higher doses of opiates than someone not in pain. So I assume you've been taking them for a while? You should be just fine. As long as you're not "nodding out" (where you can't keep your eyes open, and your head bobs up and down because you can't keep it up) if it's been 1.5 hours since you took them, and you don't feel this way, forget about it, you're in the clear!

I wish you the best of luck with your pain.

I've never done oxycotin, but I would say, if you just took 4 and you're sitting there alone, you should call someone or go be around someone. At least have someone close by to keep an eye on you. Say it's your mom, don't say, "Hey mom, I'm worried I just overdosed", just hang out with her. If anything happens, she's there. If everybodies in bed and you're still worried, consider waking somebody up.

Seeing as you have the medication on hand, I would think that you at one time held a valid prescription. If this is the case then it's not like you're taking this medication for the first time (if that was the case then I would be worried). I would expect you would just get tired an maybe fall asleep. If your breathing gets shallow or you feel really unwell I would go to the ER. Also you could always make yourself vomit to get rid of the dose.

The issue is not even the hydrocodone, it's the Tylenol. That would be 2 grams of acetaminophen. You should not take over 1 gram at a time or it can cause serious liver damage. I wouldn;t risk that. If anything get Norco 10/325 and take 2-3 of those to get more hydrocodone for your "high" without risking liver damage.
