How would this affect the growning plague of tome sized cut and paste on R&S.

Well folks, as you may already have surmised , my main concern is that some of these looong answers are not posted to be informative and thorough. Rather they sooo looong only for the sole purpose of burying other answers. How valid do you think my suspicions are?

I think the "paste" function should be disabled.

How about the length of some of these questions? The person doing the asking sometimes makes a comment on every answer.

I never read all those long cut and paste answers.

I think we already have a good way of eliminating posts that are WAY too long. Thumbs down and they disappear.

I wouldn't want a length limit on posts, because some long answers really are good ones.

You can quickly tell which ones are cut and paste, and not really to the point.

Yes, it should be limited. I have got some tooooo looong answers. Regular long answers are fine, the limit is when you have to scroll a looong time get to the next answer.

I don't mind long answers, as long as it is what someone thought out and not copied and pasted. Sometimes people have a lot to say and I think thats great. Drives me nuts when people just copy articles from wikipedia though.

I guess technically you can but they will most likely get reported and you'll end up losing points in the long run.

No leave it alone. However I would like to be able to give points to answers that make me laugh out loud.

No. The question needs to be question.

On the other hand, answer may require more.

1000 characters should be enough to post a general answer.
