I need to cook some sweet potatoes - I already have the canned kind. I also need to add the marshmallows to the top. Is it better to microwave them or bake them? And for how long? Thanks!

Bake them with butter, brown sugar and/or dark molasses, cinnamon and vanilla extract. I sometimes put some OJ in there too. The bomb!!!

Bake, definitely bake. Make kind of a paste/glaze out of water and brown sugar and put it over top of them, making sure to stir it so the mixture coats all of the potatoes. Then bake until hot, finally at the end add your marshmallows. Another thing I love is adding cashews and peaches. Sounds nasty but it is so good. If you want to add those, just add them when you put the glaze over the potatoes and bake. Marshmallows always go in near the end of baking.

I would boil your canned yams until cooked then put them in a bowl with some butter and a little brown sugar and mix with a wooden spoon or an eletric hand mixer if you have it. until well combined and fluffy! then put it in a cassarole dish with little slices of butter all over the top, sprinkle brown sugar and top the top off with as much as you like! The oven should be preheated to 350 and they should be done between 15-20 mins! WHenever your marshmellows are golden brown!
