I have had TICS my whole life. Not severe. My eyes twitch and blink when I am nervous, upset, getting sick, or things that throw my body off. I have been wearing glasses for years and I really want to switch to contacts. Will my TICS interfere? And are there any tips tricks home remedies or over-the-counter meds that can help TICS? It is embarassing sometimes when people notice. Thanks.

When you have a tic in your eye, for most people it is actually the muscles around the eye and eyelid that move. I wouldn't think this would affect your contacts.

I think that your eye doctor should be able to tell you whether you are a good candidate for contacts. As for medications for tics, I suspect that there are some. You might want to see a neurologist.

Candace, your problem is VERY common, and you can talk to your doctor about it without being embarrassed at all!

About contacts, I recommend you see an ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist, because the prior is an MD. He/She is a medical doctor specializing in the eyes. That's where you'll get all your questions answered correctly. I wish you the best of luck. :)
