I LOVE raw fruits! I'm not the biggest fan of vegetables... unless it's salad. I eat raw fruits nearly everyday. Or at least, I try to.
Supplemental pills DO NOT help your health! Any kind of pill is not good for you, even vitamins. Sure, take it when you're sick or ill, but pills tend to lead to more illness. The best way to stay healthy is to eat right and exercise. Pills can never make up for the natural stuff.

First of all your friend is a moron and exemplifies one of the main things that is wrong with modern society today. Unfortunately most people probably do eat like he does.
We are omnivores leaning to the vegetarian side, and our bodies were never meant to be subsisting mainly on processed foods full of weird chemicals and 99 percent meat meals. I know some people that proudly proclaim they never eat any fruits and vegetables. They think they sound real smart when nothing could be further from the truth. :\ These types of people are exactly what the Food and Drug companies want.
Eating a diet that mainly consists of hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, ribs, fries and no fruits and vegetables, and drinking little water is a sure way to quickly put yourself in the hospital, get OBESE, get a stroke, heart attack, get other ailments or die. Eating this type of diet and taking vitamins won't cut it.
Fresh fruits and vegetables detoxify and cleanse the body, keep you regular, and are loaded with antioxidants. The nutrients you get in vitamin pills can make up for what a person doesn't get by eating fresh fruits and vegetables. Vitamins lack synergy, but are advisable if you find that it's difficult to get the nutrients you need in your diet
Diseases like colon cancer and diabetes which are so easily preventable are at all time epidemic proportions in societies like the U.S.A.
I eat 10 lbs of fresh fruits and vegetables per day. How could anyone not like fresh fruit? It's SWEET.

From what I see most people aren't like your friend. Most of the people I know have good parents who cook well for them. This is because i'm still a teen. I don't know what it's like in the real world when you're on your own and maybe you don't have time to make yourself a good meal.
I think taking supplement pill would help. But that doesn't stop all the fat and preservatives that just kill you health. I tend to stay away from soda pop, and microwave meals. I eat fast food pretty often though. (my parents aren't all that great)

Well for starters...all fruit is raw unless you cook it in a pie or something and vegetables are good too such as carrots, celery, tomatoes, lettuce, etc.I don't eat right at all but I don't take pills either.I know I should eat more fruits and vegetables but I don't eat fast food and don't use the microwave except for re-heating food.I eat things like steak, home made hamburgers, different pasta and sauces.

Taking supplement pills does help, but not in comparison to the actual fruit or vegetables. because there is added vitimans and nutrients in the skin of the fruit/veggy that a supplement does not have.
And in a answer to your first question in todays society more people choose fast food because its quicker, easy, and more convenient to do then actually taking the time to prepare a mean.

I eat raw fruits and vegetables all the time -- they're good for you!
If you know that you don't eat right, then you should change the way you eat. Supplements are supposed to supplement your vitamin intake (hence the name) not replace it. They aren't absorbed as well as vitamins from food. You can't try to take a shortcut on being healthy. At least try to eat well. :P

The supplements alone is not going to help you stay healthy just by taking them, you need to eat your fresh fruit and vegatables also.
You can cook them to for just a little and then that way also get the nutrients.
I eat fresh vegatables every day but not that much of fruit.

I like celery with carrots & orange and crushed ice (all raw ) and I don't like fast foods as they aren't really healthy because most of them are fried foods.I don't take supplements either.I just cook my own vegetables and eat my raw fruits and drink alot of fruit juices and water.
Suppliment pills are ok but you need to eat fresh food as well to balance things and exercise for longevity :-)

NO not at all. First of all, no pill can give you all the fruits, vegetables, and nutrients that you need, nor can it replace exercise and a healthy diet. I eat fruit ALL THE TIME, and vegetables ( mostly salads ) too. Your friend is a junk-food junkie.

wow your friend must be really trapped by the food industry, raw fruits and vegetables are always in my house. I don't think supplements can replace nature, especially when you are eating fast food and microwave food
