OK I was following instructions from a turkey recipe. He then comes along and just adds this extra ingredient and then it was too late when I told him off. Then I didn't care no more and went off since he ruined the ingredients. I sat and watched him take over and he added 5 times more salt and added in sugar when we're not suppose to.
I am so fu**en frustrated. Hes old fashion Chinese with South Asian influence... I'm an American born and I have a way higher level of education. Why is he such a barbarian? He thinks his way is always right and never listens to others unless my mom yells at him, too bad my mom wasn't home...
Thanks for reading.

no matter how old-fashioned your dad is and no matter how "uneducated" he may seem, he is still your dad and due respect should always be given to him.....i know you are a good guy and being the educated one...you should be patient with his shortcomings...maybe you can try to talk to him and tell him how things should be done...humor him and tell him, "hey dad, this is how its done here...you're no longer in China...so you should learn the right way to do things here"...im sure, saying it in this manner, he would appreciate it better...

Yes, that's an emotional time interval. I wager she and her mother argue or battle plenty, or a minimum of extra now than earlier than. She typically feels just like the mother is constantly towards her and correct now simply needs a mum or dad who she feels will constantly have her again. The mother typically enforces the principles and performs unhealthy man however she is constantly daddy's little princess, she seems like even whilst you lay down the regulation you continue to love her and no longer motive you wish to punish her (absolutely mother does not) however in the course of this time she seems like mother does. So that film was once a sacared bond. Something the 2 of you shared. She feels find it irresistible supposed not anything now. Silly battle and simply demands time to fix and so that you can regain that believe.

Sometimes I feel the same way about my mom. She was born and raised in the Philippines and I was born and raised over here in America (and I'm half white), so we disagree on a few things. Sometimes she just doesn't get something so dang simple and gets all huffy.
Aw, well. She's my mom and I love her. Plus, she's the one that cooks.
Happy Thanksgiving!

When they can't seem to get enough salt like that... they need to go to the doctor... it is a sign of the onset of diabetes. I am serious.
His blood pressure can't be too good, either!
Ever been to a restaurant where it tastes like the cook dropped the whole salt shaker into the food? That is when you call the manager over, ask him to taste the food, and tell him to get the chef to a doctor... the chef is an undiagnosed diabetic.

As you know, he's the man of the household and so there's a heirarchy.
I don't understand why he needs to get involved like that. I guess he's set in his ways. My dad promotes me to do everything myself. He doesn't interfere because he wants me to be independant.
It sounds like he has some control issues or he has to have his meals a certain way. Tell him, "How am I supposed to learn if you don't let me try by myself." Perhaps he will listen.
Good luck.

Try and give your father a little respect. I know how you feel. But life is short my friend. Just because you are more educated then your father. He bought you into this world. Raised you and educated you. Unless I am wrong. Let it go and let him enjoy cooking.

Sounds like he's just set in his ways.
He may not have your education, but he has a lot of life experience.
next time you are cooking, hide the salt!

Hmm... maybe you should tell him that it's bad for him? I definitely know what you mean by old fashioned Chinese, though. ;) Just let him know that you care about him and that eating too much salt is not good for him. Good luck! (And it's great that you're cooking the turkey!)

Be nice and respectful. And try to have a good time.
Maybe if your Mom doesn't like the food, she'll tell him.
Joy to you!
