I am going to join the marines when i get out of collage. Now, i am a sophmore in collage , but I cant decide between officer or enlisted. I know people allways say "be an officer because they get more money and respect" but I really want to be on the front lines. My goal is to go for force recon and if i dont make it just the regular infantry.

kill kill kill!!!!! If youre a boot lt. you will be a platoon leader and your first assignment will probably be to unit deploying. Pop your cherry. Remember stay hard learn as much as you can and dont ever forget to trust in your NCO's the backbone of the Corps. Those are the guys who are gonna make you a better officer!! If you cant be humble with your guys and do everything to bring em all back home safe please dont be an officer. Remember you are gonna be tossed to the lions, you will have more rank than a 25 year Sgt Major so you got to take charge and like I said Look to your NCO and SNCO's for guidance. Learn to be one and lead from the front!!! You will see action. But like I tell all the Hard a s ses becareful what you ask for....

I'm not sure that studying collage is going to help a Marine much, especially infantry.

Anyway... junior officers are generally leadership positions. That means the first job will probably be "platoon leader" and in infantry, you'd be there directing fire, calling in air strikes and artillery barrages.

I don't think there will be any paper to cut up and glue together though.

Don't worry. Most marine officers start out as platoon leader. It's a guarantee you'll be in the front lines.

I would venture a guess that they see more action than other officers. Now, your chances of going recon diminish if you're an officer
