I don't think I would perform the exercise. I see no causal connection between listing what I want on paper and receiving anything, but if I instead took the time to go and do something, I might actually achieve one or more of those desires. For example, say I wanted a sandwich. Writing it down won't get it, but in about the same amount of time it took to write about it, I could just go get one.
Life's a lot simpler than a lot of philosopher's make it out to be.

1. Grant me eternal life
2. make me more like Jesus in Character.
3. remove death from the world.
4. remove pain, suffering, and illness from the world.
5. remove fear from the world.
6. remove peoples desire to harm others from the world.
7. Replace hate and all negative feelings with Love in everyone on the planet.
Hmmm, I think that pretty much sums it up. The total is 7.

This know that in the last days perilous times shall come , for men shall be lovers of themselves , covetous ,
boasters , proud , blasphemers , disobedient to parents , unthankful , unholy , without natural affection ,
trucebreakers , false accusers , incontinent , fierce , despisers of those that are good , traitors , heady ,
high-minded , lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God , having a form of godliness but denying the power
of it ; from such turn away . For this of this sort are they who creep into houses and lead captive silly women
laden with sins , led away with various lusts , ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

Just one. There's only one desire I've really got... And I say that because, while there are plenty of things that I WANT, I really only DESIRE one thing. The distinction, for me, between the 2, is that if my one desire were to be fulfilled, that would be all I could ever ask for and I would never ask for another thing. What I WANT isn't going to satisfy me that way.
