I would go with 250mg every six to eight hours. You cannot overdose with Amoxicillin. I'd rather my nine year old had a bit too much than too little if it is a serious bacterial infection such as pharyngitis (sore throat) with group A beta hemolytic streptococcus or an otitis media (middle ear infection) or a serious urinary tract infection.

doses every 12 hours
