You can't download PS2 gamesaves and use them on the PS3, the PS2 and PS3 use different formats for gamesave data. The only way to get PS2 gamesaves onto the PS3 is by transferring them from a PS2 memory card to the PS3 via a memory card adapter.

You need to buy the Memory Card adapter for the Playstation 3 to transfer all of your PS1 and PS2 memory card game saves onto the PS3's hard drive.

Basically, you will only use the Memory Card Adapter maybe 1 time to transfer all of the game saves, so after you use it you can probably sell it without a problem. I've only used mine 1 time and I haven't used it since I first got my PS3, but I still have my Memory Card Adapter though.

You get the memory card adapter. I never could understand why it isn't possible to upload your game saves and then download it to the PS3/360 hard drive.
