I am a 21 yr old graduate from India. I was a nerd in college...Its only now I've realised wat I've missed...I want to be a guitarist and form my own rock band. But most of these rockers start when they are in their teens. I just wanna know whether its too late now? Should i shelve this plan r should I give it a shot?

Go for it!!!!!! You can start something like that at any age. You could probably learn on line somehow too! Don't forget about your dreams. You don't have to be 15 to start a rock band these days. I mean The Rolling Stones and Ozzie are like 100 and still going strong. So I think you have time on your side!! LOL

it's never too late to learn how to play an instrument. There are lots of people that learn to play when they are older than 21... Why would age have anything to do with learning to play guitar?

21 too old????!!!! If you are really into it and make the time to practice and listen to your teacher, you should be able to pick it up quickly.....I'm 43 and I still play trumpet in several different ensembles (some of them even pay for gigs!!!) and have just started taking piano lessons again.....am I too old for that? I hope not, because I love it and I adore my teacher and I have made so many new friends in the ensembles I play trumpet in......it has improved my life so much.....GOOD LUCK and if it is something you really want to do, don't get discouraged and don't give up even when something new you are trying to learn seems impossible......keep working at it and believe me, it will come to you if you consistently work at it.......some of the pieces my piano teacher assigns to me seem way out of my league, but usually within a week or two I have both hands put together - it may be slow, but I can usually get it with time, practice and patience......I even went to my local community college last spring and took a couple of music classes and was even considering going to another college to get another degree......

It is never too late to learn a new hobby...and it would probably be just that, and it has very little to do with your age. The number of people that know how to play guitar and actually form is band has a low percentage, and the number of those bands that actually get signed....lower, and those that get signed and become successful....even lower.

So if you want to learn the guitar....take lessons and have fun, and just dont have expectations beyond that....and who knows maybe someday your dreams could come true.

it's NEVER too late man. I work at a music shop in Canada, and trust me, atleast 50% of the students who come in for lessons are past 18. A few are even in their late 40's. Some people might have that mind setting that "you have to start early to be really good", but no, thats not correct at all. Just don't give up, and don't let anyone or anything get in your way.

NOOO WAAYY it is never too late to learn anything!!!...especiually an instrument!!! It doesnt matter how old you are when u start a band, i know soo many people that are in their late twentys and late 30's that just started a band. It's your life, you do what ever you want, do what ever floats your boat. BTW most rockers don't give a crap about what other people think of them. If you want to start a band, you go and do it!!

It's NEVER too late to learn the guitar... but you may be a bit over the hill for learning to play and then starting a rock band.

You're never too old to learn anything. Take the time to learn all you want while you still can. I just started learning a couple of weeks ago and I'm 22 going on 23. Go for it!!! and good luck!

Don't give up on your dream. 21 is a little old but if you are prepared to work hard it is pretty easy to play a guitar. The hardest part I think is learning to read music. Good Luck!

I learned at 21, so i could understand music better. (I love rock music). If u are good at maths, music helps, apparently.

Take heart. Most great rock songs are only 3 or 4 chords, and most chords are easy to learn. It just takes practice.

Good luck
