I was a big Browning fan when they were made in Belgium years back. I'm not a fan any more since now they are made in Japan, as I truly believe that the quality of manufacturing just isn't there like it used to be. I am sure you realize by now I'm a BIG Remington 700 fan as I already own (6) that I hunt with and shoot Long Range Competitions and Matches with in 308 caliber. I would buy the Remington once again in a heartbeat. The only way I would own a Browning would be if someone "gifted" me one, and even then I would probably trade it in for another Remington 700....lol. Others come and go but 700 Series Remington's accumulate..(Like Rabbits)

I have never been a fan of browning rifles. I am a die hard Remington man. Of the rifles I own all but one are Remington made. That one is a Jap type 38.

I would go with a Rem 700. I own one now a 700VLS in 223 Rem. That rifles will shoot .4" 5 shot groups at 100 yards any day of the week. That is an almost bone stock gun too. the only things I have changed are a light weight firing pin and a Timney Trigger that is adjusted to just under 1#.

That said. I am sure the Browning would produce good accruacy for a hunting rifle. I think they are over priced for what you get though.

I don't own either, but the Remington is on the list and the Browning isn't. I had a good look at them and just don't like the shape or the feel. They are nice and shiny, but of these two I'd rather have the Remington.

Well i would definetly go with a Remington. Ive personally ever shot an A-Bolt, but the 700 is the most reliable gun ive heard shot. Its super accurate, very durable, light, accurate. Just a very well constructed weapon.
