You don't sound anorexic to me. Ask a few people if they think you're too skinny. If they all say yes, you probably are. If they don't, you're fine. Anorexic people don't care if everybody says their too skinny, they still think they're overweight.

Your BMI is definitely too low for your size--you are underweight. However, that does not make you gross or anorexic. It could be that you are very active or that you have a very active metabolism.

Your Mom is just worried about you. Teen girls especially are under constant pressure to look perfect. Perhaps what you think is eating a lot, really isn't. BTW, a dentist is not a medical doctor.

For your health, I would suggest trying to improve your eating habits. Never skip breakfast, especially, because it really is the most important meal of the day. Make sure you're eating real food, too. Candy and junk food do not count.

I think this is just a matter of health, not how you look. You may look fabulous, but that doesn't make you healthy. Focus on your health now and your body will find its ideal weight on its own.

I was about that weight at your age, although I'm not quite as tall. For years everyone around me told me I was skinny. Like you, I could eat anything and not gain an ounce. I really filled out in my early 30's.

It's funny how everyone feels so free to tell people they are skinny but wouldn't dream of telling someone on the heavy side that they were too fat.

I suspect your Mom has heard and read so much about anorexia that she is afraid for you. I'm sure she didn't intend to be hurtful.

You sound just fine. I bet you are a beauty.

You'll probably want to back off the candy and stuff and make sure you get into the habit of eating healthy snacks. There may well come a time when you do put on weight and you want to make sure you've established sound eating habits to get you through that time.

Some of us girls are just naturally skinny. I know i'm that way, and a lot of people at school call me anorexic and tell me i need to gain weight.

I don't think your mom was trying to be rude and hurt your feelings. She's probably just concerned because you are a skinny girl and in HER opinion she thinks you need to gain weight. But the one you need to remember, is everyone has different opinion on you... some people will think you look fabulous some people will think you look horrible. It's judgement. You need to look the way that you like. If you can't gain weight, that's not your fault. Don't let other people's feeling about you effect you, because truth be told nobody is perfect and the way things are now a days... kids and parents will pick you apart.

Follow your heart, do what you think makes you look beautiful because nobodies opinion matters more about you than yourself.

That's that typical motherly/grandmotherly instinct coming out in her. All mom's when their children start getting thin are wondering if they're getting enough to eat. Its like a confidence issue on their part.

I feel really bad about her saying that to you; are you able to talk to your mom? My mom and I have a really tight relationship, so when she hurt my feelings, I'd tell her about it. She didn't really ever say sorry, but she'd sugar coat things and eventually it worked itself out.

If you're eating fine and the dentist says you're fine, then you're fine! Dentists know when someone has an eating disorder, its got something to do with the acid in bulemia, and the way your teeth wear with anorexia.

Just enjoy your Thanksgiving tomorrow. And make sure she sees you get that extra helping of stuffing!!! Just kidding... I wish you the best of luck and hope you're feeling better!

I am shorter than you, I weigh more than you, and I am not overweight. You are severely underweight. Of course you're fainting once a week. You shouldn't even be fainting once a year. Yes, gain weight, even though that's "something dumb." What else did you want us to tell you?
